Align your credentials to LCA-filed job titles
Cardinal Health files Labor Condition Applications with the DOL before sponsoring a visa. Check FLAG.dol.gov for their past LCA filings under Service Tech or related titles to confirm which job codes they've used and target your application to match.
Certify any field service documentation before applying
Service Tech roles in distribution and wholesale often require verifiable certifications, such as biomedical equipment or electromechanical credentials. Having these certified and ready before your interview signals you can pass Cardinal Health's technical vetting without delaying the offer process.
Target Cardinal Health's regional distribution hubs directly
Cardinal Health's Service Tech openings cluster around its major distribution and medical product facilities. Filtering applications by those facility locations, rather than remote or corporate postings, puts you in the pipeline where hands-on technical sponsorship is most common.
Clarify CPT and OPT authorization timing with your recruiter early
If you're on an F-1 visa, Cardinal Health can hire you on CPT or OPT before any H-1B petition. Confirm your work authorization end date upfront so the recruiter can align your start date and begin H-1B cap-subject filing well ahead of the April lottery window.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Service Tech openings at Cardinal Health
Service Tech roles at Cardinal Health open and close quickly across distribution sites. Migrate Mate filters sponsor-verified job listings by role type and visa category, so you can identify and apply to active openings before they fill, without manually tracking each facility's careers page.
Request the offer letter before PERM eligibility lapses
If Cardinal Health is sponsoring you toward a Green Card through PERM, the employer-employee relationship must be continuous and documented. Service Tech roles involving equipment servicing contracts can create ambiguity, so confirm your employment structure is classified as direct hire before the PERM audit clock matters.

Does Cardinal Health sponsor H-1B visas for Service Techs?
Yes, Cardinal Health sponsors H-1B visas for Service Tech roles. Service Tech positions in healthcare distribution typically qualify as specialty occupations when the role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant technical field. Cardinal Health has an established sponsorship process, but you'll need to clear the annual H-1B lottery, which runs each April for an October 1 start date.
Which visa types are commonly used for Service Tech roles at Cardinal Health?
H-1B is the most common path for longer-term sponsorship. F-1 students can start on CPT during a program or OPT after graduation, with STEM OPT extending eligibility up to three years. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical categories. Cardinal Health also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for Service Tech employees who have been with the company.
How do I apply for Service Tech jobs at Cardinal Health?
You can browse and apply for open Service Tech roles at Cardinal Health through Migrate Mate, which filters verified sponsor-friendly listings by role and visa type. When applying, highlight any biomedical, electromechanical, or field service certifications relevant to distribution or medical equipment. Applying directly to facility-specific postings, rather than general corporate listings, improves your chances of reaching a hiring manager who can move quickly on sponsorship.
What qualifications does Cardinal Health look for in Service Tech candidates?
Cardinal Health typically expects a technical degree or equivalent certification in biomedical engineering technology, electronics, or mechanical systems for Service Tech roles. Hands-on experience with medical devices, distribution equipment, or field service environments is valued. Roles that involve regulated medical products may also require familiarity with FDA compliance or quality management systems, which strengthens both your candidacy and the specialty occupation argument for H-1B purposes.
How do I plan my timeline if Cardinal Health is sponsoring my visa?
If you're starting on OPT or CPT, confirm your authorization end date before your first day and flag the H-1B filing window with your HR contact immediately. H-1B cap registration opens in March for an October 1 start, so you need an offer in place well before then. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, Cardinal Health can file an H-1B transfer, letting you start work as soon as USCIS receives the petition.
