Align your portfolio to real estate data
CBRE's Data Contributor roles focus on property records, market analytics, and geospatial datasets. Reframe your experience around real estate data sources like CoStar, MLS systems, or GIS platforms before applying, so your background maps directly to their workflows.
Target CBRE's research and intelligence teams
CBRE houses Data Contributors across its Research, GCS, and Capital Markets divisions. Identify which business unit posted the role, then tailor your application to that team's data outputs rather than submitting a generic resume across all openings.
Secure a degree evaluation before interviews begin
If your credentials are from outside the U.S., get a foreign credential evaluation completed early. CBRE's hiring process for data roles often involves HR screening for specialty occupation eligibility, and having an evaluation ready prevents delays once an offer is extended.
Clarify OPT or CPT timing with your DSO early
F-1 students have strict authorization windows that must align with a start date. Confirm your OPT start date with your Designated School Official before CBRE's offer stage so there's no gap between your authorization period and onboarding.
Understand how CBRE's LCA filing affects your timeline
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can adjudicate your H-1B petition. LCA certification typically takes seven business days, so factor that into your expected start date when negotiating with CBRE's HR team.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Data Contributor roles
Filtering for sponsorship-confirmed Data Contributor postings saves significant time. Use Migrate Mate to browse CBRE's current openings filtered by visa type, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already part of the hiring plan.

Find Data Contributor at CBRE JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CBRE sponsor H-1B visas for Data Contributors?
Yes, CBRE sponsors H-1B visas for Data Contributor roles. The process requires your position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a relevant bachelor's degree or higher in a field like data science, information systems, or a related discipline. CBRE's HR team coordinates the LCA filing with DOL and the subsequent I-129 petition with USCIS, so sponsorship is handled internally once an offer is made.
How do I apply for Data Contributor jobs at CBRE?
Applications go through CBRE's careers portal, where roles are listed by business unit and location. You can also browse verified sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters CBRE postings by visa type. Tailor your resume to the specific division posting the role, such as Research, GCS, or Capital Markets, since each team has distinct data responsibilities and hiring criteria.
Which visa types does CBRE commonly use for Data Contributor roles?
CBRE sponsors across several categories for this function, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN for Canadian and Mexican professionals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for current students. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship is also available for longer-term employment. The right category depends on your nationality, education level, and current immigration status.
What qualifications does CBRE look for in Data Contributor candidates?
CBRE's Data Contributor roles typically require proficiency in data collection, validation, or analysis workflows, often tied to commercial real estate datasets. Familiarity with tools like SQL, Python, GIS platforms, or real estate data systems such as CoStar strengthens your application. A bachelor's degree in information systems, data science, geography, or a related field is standard for H-1B specialty occupation eligibility.
How do I time a Data Contributor job search to align with H-1B deadlines?
The H-1B cap registration window opens in March each year, with a lottery for cap-subject petitions shortly after. To be eligible, you need a signed offer and a filed petition before your current work authorization expires. Start your CBRE job search at least four to six months before your authorization end date to allow time for the LCA certification, petition preparation, and USCIS adjudication.
