Align Your Credentials to Specialty Occupation Standards
USCIS requires Architectural Engineer roles to qualify as specialty occupations, meaning your degree must directly relate to the position. A background in systems architecture, electrical engineering, or computer engineering strengthens this connection far more than a general IT degree.
Target CDW's Enterprise Solutions Practice Areas
CDW hires Architectural Engineers primarily to support enterprise infrastructure clients across networking, security, and cloud. Positioning your experience around client-facing solution design for large-scale deployments mirrors how CDW structures these roles internally and makes your application more relevant.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface CDW's Open Roles
CDW posts Architectural Engineer openings across multiple geographies and practice verticals, so roles can be easy to miss. Browse Migrate Mate to filter for CDW's sponsorship-eligible positions and identify which postings explicitly align with your visa category.
Raise Sponsorship Early in Recruiter Conversations
CDW's talent acquisition team handles sponsorship through a structured HR process. Clarifying your visa status and timeline during the initial recruiter screen, not after an offer is extended, prevents delays and ensures the right internal stakeholders are looped in from the start.
Understand TN Eligibility if You Hold Canadian or Mexican Citizenship
CDW sponsors TN visas for qualifying roles, and the TN category covers engineers without the H-1B cap or lottery risk. Confirm that your specific engineering designation maps to an eligible TN profession category before assuming you need to wait for the annual H-1B registration window.
Prepare Documentation Before CDW Initiates the PERM Process
If CDW pursues an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card for you, DOL requires a PERM labor certification that documents the recruitment process. Gathering your educational transcripts, employment verification letters, and any foreign credential evaluations ahead of time prevents bottlenecks once the employer-side filing begins.

Find Architectural Engineer at CDW JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CDW sponsor H-1B visas for Architectural Engineers?
Yes, CDW sponsors H-1B visas for Architectural Engineer roles. Because these positions typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring a directly related bachelor's degree or higher, they meet USCIS's core H-1B eligibility criteria. CDW has an established internal process for managing sponsorship, so candidates who raise their visa requirements early in the hiring process generally find the company prepared to move forward.
How do I apply for Architectural Engineer jobs at CDW?
You can find and apply for Architectural Engineer openings at CDW through Migrate Mate, which filters for sponsorship-eligible roles and lets you identify positions that match your visa category. When you apply, make your engineering specialization explicit in your resume since CDW hires across multiple practice areas including cloud infrastructure, networking, and security architecture. Clarify your visa status with the recruiter at the first screening call.
Which visa types does CDW commonly use for Architectural Engineer hires?
CDW sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Cards (EB-2 and EB-3) for engineering roles. F-1 OPT is often the entry point for recent graduates, with H-1B sponsorship following for those who remain. Canadian and Mexican nationals should evaluate TN as a faster alternative to H-1B since it bypasses the annual lottery and cap constraints.
What qualifications does CDW expect for Architectural Engineer roles?
CDW's Architectural Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree in a technical field such as electrical engineering, computer engineering, or systems architecture. Beyond credentials, CDW emphasizes hands-on experience designing and deploying enterprise-scale solutions for clients. Vendor certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, or similar technology partners are frequently listed as requirements or strong differentiators in job postings for this function.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for CDW Architectural Engineer roles?
Timeline varies by visa type. H-1B sponsorship is tied to USCIS's annual April registration window, with approved petitions taking effect October 1. TN status can be obtained at the border or port of entry in a single day for eligible citizens. If CDW pursues a Green Card through PERM, the full EB-2 or EB-3 process typically spans one to several years depending on your country of birth and DOL processing times.
