Align Your Credentials to CDW's Technical Stack
CDW deploys and supports infrastructure across networking, storage, and hardware for enterprise clients. Tailor your resume to reflect hands-on experience with those specific product categories rather than broad IT generalist skills that won't stand out in screening.
Target CDW's Configuration and Integration Centers
CDW operates dedicated integration centers where Engineering Technicians handle imaging, configuration, and deployment at scale. Applying directly to roles tied to these facilities increases your chances since they have dedicated technical headcount and recurring hiring cycles.
Understand How DOL Prevailing Wage Affects Your Offer
For H-1B and PERM filings, CDW must meet DOL prevailing wage requirements for your role and location. If you receive an offer, verify that the salary aligns with wage level requirements for Engineering Technician positions in that specific metro area.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter CDW Engineering Technician Openings
Sponsorship-confirmed job listings disappear fast. Use Migrate Mate to filter Engineering Technician roles at CDW by visa type so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already on the table, not guessing from a generic job board listing.
Get Your TN Documentation Ready If You're Canadian or Mexican
CDW sponsors TN visas for qualifying technical roles. If you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, prepare documentation showing your Engineering Technician position meets USMCA's Computer Systems Analyst or other eligible category before your offer letter is finalized.

Find Engineering Technician at CDW JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CDW sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Technicians?
Yes, CDW sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Technician roles. Because H-1B sponsorship requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, roles with clearly defined technical degree requirements, such as those involving systems integration, network infrastructure support, or hardware deployment engineering, are the strongest candidates for approval.
How do I apply for Engineering Technician jobs at CDW?
Apply directly through CDW's careers portal and filter for Engineering Technician openings. To ensure the role includes visa sponsorship, browse listings through Migrate Mate, which surfaces CDW positions specifically confirmed for sponsorship. Before applying, tailor your application to highlight hardware, configuration, or deployment experience that matches CDW's enterprise client work.
Which visa types does CDW commonly use for Engineering Technician roles?
CDW supports several visa categories for this role type, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, F-1 OPT and CPT for students in active programs, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical categories, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for candidates pursuing permanent residence. The right visa depends on your nationality, education level, and how long you've been in the U.S.
What qualifications does CDW expect for Engineering Technician positions?
CDW typically looks for candidates with a degree or formal training in computer science, electrical engineering, information technology, or a related technical field. Hands-on experience with hardware configuration, imaging, network equipment, or enterprise deployment environments is weighted heavily. For sponsored roles, your degree field must align closely with the role's technical requirements to support USCIS petition approval.
How do I time my application around CDW's H-1B sponsorship process?
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, securing a CDW offer by January or February gives your employer time to register you in the lottery. If you're selected, USCIS begins adjudicating petitions after April 1. Cap-exempt candidates, including those at qualifying nonprofits, face a different timeline entirely and can file year-round.
