Frame your leadership experience for CDW's model
CDW's Development Manager roles typically blend people management with delivery accountability across client-facing technology solutions. Tailor your resume to show you've led engineering teams through full software delivery cycles, not just individual contributor work.
Target CDW's technology solutions divisions directly
Development Manager openings at CDW span both internal software engineering and client delivery teams. Prioritize roles tied to CDW's solutions and services divisions, where sponsorship for management-level technical roles is most consistently practiced.
Use Migrate Mate to surface CDW's open roles
CDW posts Development Manager positions across multiple business units simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter and track CDW openings filtered by visa sponsorship so you're applying to active roles, not listings that have already closed or been filled internally.
Negotiate your offer timeline around H-1B filing windows
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. If you're receiving an offer in summer or fall, ask CDW's HR team whether they'll support a cap-exempt filing or whether your start date needs to align with the next USCIS registration period.
Prepare for PERM if a Green Card is part of your plan
CDW sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for qualified Development Managers. PERM requires DOL-supervised recruitment, which can take 12 to 18 months before your I-140 petition is even filed. Raise your long-term immigration goals early in the offer stage, not after you've signed.

Find Development Manager at CDW JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CDW sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, CDW sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. CDW participates in both the annual H-1B cap lottery and cap-exempt filings where applicable. If you're a current H-1B holder transferring from another employer, CDW can file an H-1B transfer petition, which lets you begin work as soon as the petition is received by USCIS without waiting for a new cap slot.
Which visa types does CDW commonly use for Development Manager roles?
CDW supports several visa categories for Development Managers: H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, and EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based Green Cards for long-term sponsorship. The right pathway depends on your nationality, current status, and how long you've been in the U.S.
What qualifications does CDW expect for Development Manager roles?
CDW's Development Manager roles generally require a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, along with demonstrated experience managing software engineering teams. Hands-on delivery background matters as much as people management, particularly experience leading cross-functional teams on technology solutions or enterprise software projects. Senior-level roles may also require experience with agile delivery or cloud-based infrastructure programs.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at CDW?
You can browse and apply for Development Manager positions at CDW through Migrate Mate, which filters CDW's open roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're not applying blind. CDW's hiring process typically includes an initial recruiter screen, followed by technical and behavioral interviews with engineering leadership. If sponsorship is relevant to your situation, flag it clearly during the recruiter call rather than waiting until the offer stage.
How do I plan my timeline if CDW is sponsoring my H-1B?
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start date. If you're starting a role mid-year on OPT or another status, CDW will typically file your H-1B in the next available registration cycle. STEM OPT extensions give F-1 graduates up to 24 additional months of work authorization, which can bridge the gap if you don't get selected in your first lottery attempt.
