Frame your certifications around CDW's vendor portfolio
CDW partners heavily with Cisco, Microsoft, AWS, and VMware. Holding active certifications from these vendors signals direct alignment with the accounts Solutions Architects support, which strengthens your H-1B specialty occupation case and makes you a stronger candidate.
Target CDW's vertical-aligned SA teams first
CDW organizes Solutions Architects by vertical, including healthcare, government, and enterprise. Applying to verticals where your prior industry experience is documented makes it easier for hiring managers to map your background to an open requisition and for attorneys to build the specialty occupation argument.
Confirm your OPT end date before the offer stage
CDW sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, but the H-1B cap-subject filing window opens only in April. If your OPT expires before October 1, you'll need STEM OPT extension eligibility or a cap-exempt bridge strategy. Clarify this with the recruiter before accepting any offer.
Understand how the DOL prevailing wage affects your offer
For H-1B and PERM filings, CDW must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for Solutions Architect roles in the work location. Research wage levels for your metro using the OFLC wage library so you can evaluate whether an offer meets the threshold before signing.
Use Migrate Mate to surface CDW SA openings that align with your visa type
Not all Solutions Architect postings at CDW are open to sponsored candidates at the same stage. Migrate Mate filters CDW roles by visa type, so you can identify which openings are realistically accessible given your current status before investing time in the application.
Get your technical documentation sponsor-ready before interviews
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for Solutions Architect roles because the title covers a wide range of duties. Prepare a clear written summary of your specialized technical scope, the specific degree nexus, and any client-facing deliverables you own. This documentation directly supports the petition your employer's attorney will file.

Find Solutions Architect at CDW JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CDW sponsor H-1B visas for Solutions Architects?
Yes, CDW sponsors H-1B visas for Solutions Architect roles. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical or engineering field. CDW works with immigration counsel to file cap-subject petitions, so your offer timing relative to the April registration window matters. Confirm sponsorship eligibility with your recruiter early in the process.
How do I apply for Solutions Architect jobs at CDW?
Applications go through CDW's careers portal. Solutions Architect roles are often posted by vertical or product segment, so searching by technology area, such as cloud or security, narrows results more effectively than a broad title search. Migrate Mate aggregates CDW's open Solutions Architect positions and filters by visa sponsorship type, which helps you identify roles aligned with your current immigration status before applying directly.
Which visa types does CDW commonly use for Solutions Architect roles?
CDW sponsors H-1B visas most frequently for Solutions Architects, and also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates in early-career SA roles. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, CDW has filed EB-2 and EB-3 PERM-based Green Card petitions for this function. TN classification is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose degrees align with a qualifying USMCA occupation category.
What qualifications does CDW expect for Solutions Architect positions?
CDW typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a closely related technical field, along with relevant vendor certifications such as AWS, Cisco, or Microsoft. Solutions Architects at CDW are expected to have pre-sales or consulting experience, strong client communication skills, and deep technical knowledge in at least one infrastructure or cloud domain. Industry vertical experience is a differentiator in competitive applicant pools.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a CDW Solutions Architect offer?
For H-1B cap-subject cases, the timeline depends on when you receive your offer relative to the April lottery registration window. If selected, your start date cannot be earlier than October 1. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship typically takes two to four years from labor certification filing through USCIS approval, depending on your priority date and country of birth. Discuss both timelines with CDW's immigration counsel after receiving your offer.
