Align your credentials to CDW's technical requirements
CDW's Solutions Consultant roles consistently require proficiency in specific technology stacks, vendor certifications, and enterprise sales experience. Before applying, verify your credentials map to the solution areas CDW actively recruits for, such as cloud, security, or networking.
Target open roles by solution practice area
CDW organizes Solutions Consultants by practice areas like hybrid infrastructure, digital workspace, and cybersecurity. Filtering your search by these categories surfaces roles with the tightest skill-to-requirement fit, which strengthens your case during sponsorship discussions with the hiring team.
Research CDW's DOL Labor Condition Applications before interviewing
DOL LCA filings for CDW Solutions Consultant roles reveal the prevailing wage levels and work locations tied to active sponsorships. Reviewing this data prepares you to discuss compensation realistically and confirms which office locations CDW is actively filing petitions for.
Clarify OPT STEM extension eligibility with your DSO early
Solutions Consultant roles at technology firms like CDW often qualify under STEM OPT extension criteria. Confirm your degree field meets STEM classification requirements before your initial OPT period ends, since the 60-day grace period does not pause your job search clock.
Initiate H-1B sponsorship conversations before the March registration window
CDW's HR and legal teams plan H-1B registrations ahead of the annual USCIS lottery window, which opens in March. Securing an offer and completing onboarding paperwork well before February gives your petition the best chance of being included in CDW's filing cycle.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified Solutions Consultant openings at CDW
Not all CDW Solutions Consultant postings surface equally across general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter for CDW roles that align with your visa type, so you apply to positions where sponsorship is already part of the hiring process.

Does CDW sponsor H-1B visas for Solutions Consultants?
Yes, CDW sponsors H-1B visas for Solutions Consultant roles. The company has an established process for filing H-1B petitions through the annual USCIS lottery, and this function is one it has sponsored consistently. If you're targeting an H-1B, securing your offer well before the March registration window is critical, since USCIS requires employer registrations to be submitted before petitions can be filed.
How do I apply for Solutions Consultant jobs at CDW?
Applications go through CDW's careers portal, where roles are organized by solution practice area. Tailoring your resume to reflect specific vendor certifications and enterprise technology experience relevant to the role improves your chances of passing initial screening. You can also browse verified Solutions Consultant openings at CDW on Migrate Mate, which filters by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can focus on roles that match your work authorization situation.
Which visa types does CDW commonly use for Solutions Consultant roles?
CDW sponsors several visa categories for Solutions Consultant positions, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing technology-related degree programs. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, CDW has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa petitions through the PERM labor certification process administered by DOL.
What qualifications does CDW expect for Solutions Consultant roles?
CDW Solutions Consultant positions typically require a bachelor's degree in a technology or business-related field, though relevant vendor certifications in areas like Cisco, Microsoft, or AWS carry significant weight. Client-facing experience in enterprise technology environments, familiarity with solution-selling methodologies, and the ability to translate technical specifications into business outcomes are consistent expectations across most practice areas CDW hires for.
How do I think about timing if I need visa sponsorship from CDW?
Timing depends on which visa pathway applies to you. F-1 OPT allows you to start working while CDW pursues an H-1B on your behalf, but OPT authorization is time-limited, so aligning your offer timeline with the annual H-1B registration window in March is important. TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals can be obtained at the port of entry, which gives more flexibility. For PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, the process typically begins after you've established tenure in the role.
