Build a portfolio around enterprise solution outcomes
CDW Presales roles live and die on demonstrated ability to scope and present solutions to enterprise clients. Document specific wins where your technical architecture directly influenced a deal outcome, not just implementations you supported.
Align your certifications to CDW's vendor partnerships
CDW is a major reseller across Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, and AWS. Holding active certifications in at least one of these vendor ecosystems signals immediate commercial value and strengthens your H-1B specialty occupation argument for this role.
Target roles through Migrate Mate to filter by sponsorship history
Presales openings at large IT solution providers are competitive and not all postings indicate sponsorship willingness upfront. Use Migrate Mate to surface CDW Presales Solution Architect roles that are tied to verified sponsorship activity.
Request LCA filing details before accepting an offer
Before your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL, confirm the wage level they intend to certify matches your offered salary. LCA wage levels for Presales roles in major metro markets can vary significantly and affect your long-term compensation structure.
Clarify OPT start dates during offer negotiation
If you're on F-1 OPT, CDW will need time to complete E-Verify before your start date. Confirm the verification timeline with the recruiting team early so your authorization window and the formal start date align without a gap.
Prepare a degree-to-role mapping document for H-1B filing
USCIS scrutinizes whether a Presales Solution Architect role qualifies as a specialty occupation. A one-page document connecting your computer science, engineering, or information systems degree to the specific technical duties in the job description helps your attorney build a stronger petition.

Find Presales Solution Architect at CDW JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CDW sponsor H-1B visas for Presales Solution Architects?
Yes, CDW sponsors H-1B visas for Presales Solution Architect roles. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given its requirement for a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. Your employer will file the H-1B petition with USCIS after securing a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL. Sponsorship decisions are made at the business unit level, so confirming intent early in the hiring process is important.
How do I apply for Presales Solution Architect jobs at CDW?
You can browse and apply for Presales Solution Architect openings at CDW directly through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles with verified visa sponsorship activity. When applying, tailor your resume to emphasize enterprise sales cycle involvement, vendor certifications, and specific technologies you have presales experience with. CDW's recruiting process typically includes a technical screen followed by panel interviews with sales and solutions leadership.
Which visa types are commonly used for Presales Solution Architect roles at CDW?
H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa for full-time Presales Solution Architect hires at CDW, given the role's specialty occupation basis. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for candidates earlier in their careers, often in adjacent or junior presales roles. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical occupations. For long-term sponsorship, CDW has also supported employees through EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways.
What qualifications and experience does CDW expect for a Presales Solution Architect?
CDW typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related engineering discipline. Hands-on experience in at least one enterprise technology domain, such as networking, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, or data center solutions, is expected. Active vendor certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, or AWS carry significant weight. Prior experience engaging directly with enterprise clients in a sales or consulting capacity is a strong differentiator.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at CDW?
After you receive and accept an offer, CDW's legal team will file a Labor Condition Application with DOL, which typically takes seven business days. USCIS standard H-1B processing then runs three to five months, though premium processing can reduce that to 15 business days for an additional fee. If you are subject to the H-1B cap, your start date will be October 1 of the fiscal year for which you were selected in the lottery.
