At Commure, we're building the AI Operating System for healthcare, the foundation that defines how care is delivered, documented, and financed. Our platform spans the full care journey: Ambient AI and Dictation eliminating documentation burden at the point of care, intelligent Agents automating patient and revenue workflows, and autonomous RCM processing billions in claims, all on a single AI-native platform integrated with 60+ EHRs.
Healthcare carries a $1 trillion administrative burden and we're at the center of transforming it. Today, 500,000+ clinicians across 500+ healthcare organizations nationwide trust Commure to handle $25B+ in annual claims and support over 200 million patient interactions. Our latest $70M raise at a $7B valuation reflects the confidence the market has placed in this mission.
Our team works directly alongside clinicians, not through layers of process, which means the gap between what you build and its impact on patient care is immediate. We move fast, deploy daily, and take full ownership from early thinking to production. If you're energized by hard problems, high stakes, and a team that holds itself to a high bar, you'll find your people here.

Align your portfolio with Commure's stack
Commure's backend work centers on healthcare data infrastructure, so highlight experience with distributed systems, REST or gRPC APIs, and high-throughput data pipelines. Specialty occupation petitions are strengthened when your background directly maps to the advertised role's technical requirements.
Confirm OPT or CPT authorization before applying
If you're on F-1 status, verify your OPT start date and remaining days before your first interview. Commure sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, but hiring timelines in engineering can move quickly, and running out of authorization mid-process creates avoidable complications.
Ask about LCA filing timing during the offer stage
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Ask Commure's recruiting team early whether they use standard or premium processing, since premium cuts USCIS adjudication to 15 business days.
Target Backend Software Engineer roles using Migrate Mate
Filter by Backend Software Engineer openings at Commure on Migrate Mate to see only roles actively open to visa sponsorship. This saves time you'd otherwise spend filtering out positions that don't match your authorization needs.
Prepare for the specialty occupation documentation requirement
USCIS requires that H-1B roles qualify as specialty occupations, meaning the position normally requires a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. For backend engineering roles, document your degree field precisely and gather any transcripts or credential evaluations for non-U.S. degrees before the petition is filed.
Factor in green card pathway when evaluating the offer
Commure sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 green cards. During offer negotiation, ask whether the company initiates PERM labor certification for backend engineers and what the typical timeline looks like, since PERM processing at the DOL currently runs over a year before the I-140 stage begins.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Commure sponsor H-1B visas for Backend Software Engineers?
Yes, Commure sponsors H-1B visas for Backend Software Engineers. The company has a consistent pattern of filing H-1B petitions for engineering roles, which signals an internal process and legal infrastructure already in place. Your petition must still clear the annual H-1B lottery, so timing your application around the March registration window is critical.
Which visa types are commonly used for Backend Software Engineer roles at Commure?
H-1B is the most common long-term work visa for software engineering roles at Commure. The company also sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates already on student visas, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering categories, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa categories for permanent residency pathways.
How do I apply for Backend Software Engineer jobs at Commure?
Browse active Backend Software Engineer openings at Commure through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles open to visa sponsorship. From there, apply directly through Commure's careers page. Engineering interviews typically include a technical screen, system design rounds focused on distributed systems or API architecture, and a final loop with the engineering team.
What qualifications does Commure expect for Backend Software Engineer candidates needing sponsorship?
Commure's backend roles generally require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, which also satisfies USCIS specialty occupation requirements for H-1B petitions. Practical experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), and healthcare or data-intensive API design strengthens both your application and your visa petition.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at Commure?
The H-1B cap registration window opens in March each year, with an October 1 start date if selected. If you're finishing OPT, calculate whether your authorization covers you through the October start. If there's a gap, USCIS's cap-gap rule extends F-1 OPT status for students with a timely filed H-1B petition, so confirm your OPT end date against your petition receipt date.
