Healthcare carries a $1 trillion administrative burden and we're at the center of transforming it. Today, 500,000+ clinicians across 500+ healthcare organizations nationwide trust Commure to handle $25B+ in annual claims and support over 200 million patient interactions. Our latest $70M raise at a $7B valuation reflects the confidence the market has placed in this mission.

We move fast, deploy daily, and take full ownership from early thinking to production. Tailor your resume to Commure's stack
Commure's Backend Engineer roles consistently emphasize distributed systems, API design, and healthcare data infrastructure. Align your resume to those specifics rather than generic backend experience. Reviewers at healthcare tech companies prioritize depth in scalable service architecture.
Confirm sponsorship intent before applying
Not every Backend Engineer posting at Commure will explicitly state sponsorship availability. Contact the recruiter early to confirm willingness to file an H-1B petition or support OPT before investing time in technical interviews.
Use Migrate Mate to filter sponsoring roles
Searching for Backend Engineer openings at healthcare tech companies that actively sponsor is time-consuming. Use Migrate Mate to filter Commure's open roles by visa sponsorship type so you only apply to positions aligned with your authorization needs.
Document your specialty occupation credentials early
USCIS requires H-1B petitions to demonstrate the role is a specialty occupation. For backend engineering, gather transcripts, degree equivalency evaluations if you hold a three-year degree, and a job description that explicitly ties duties to a specific technical field.
Negotiate your start date around H-1B timelines
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, USCIS sets an October 1 start date for new petitions. When negotiating your offer with Commure, make sure your proposed start date accounts for lottery selection in March and the October activation window.
Understand how PERM affects your long-term path
Commure supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which require DOL PERM labor certification. That process can take 12 to 18 months before an I-140 petition is even filed, so raise the timeline with your hiring manager during the offer stage.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Commure sponsor H-1B visas for Backend Engineers?
Yes, Commure sponsors H-1B visas for Backend Engineer roles. The company has an active sponsorship track record for engineering positions, covering both cap-subject petitions for new applicants and H-1B transfers for candidates already holding valid status with another employer. Confirm the specific role's eligibility with the recruiter before your final interview round.
Which visa types does Commure support for Backend Engineer roles?
Commure sponsors H-1B visas and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for Backend Engineers still within their student authorization window. TN visa holders in qualifying engineering roles can also be considered. For longer-term pathways, the company supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, which involves DOL PERM labor certification followed by an I-140 petition through USCIS.
What qualifications does Commure expect for Backend Engineer candidates?
Commure typically looks for backend engineers with strong experience in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and API development, often in the context of healthcare or data-intensive applications. A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field is expected. USCIS also requires this degree connection to support an H-1B specialty occupation determination, so a closely matched technical background strengthens both your application and the visa petition.
How do I apply for Backend Engineer jobs at Commure?
You can browse and apply for Backend Engineer roles at Commure directly through Migrate Mate, which lists open positions and filters by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. Once you identify a role, apply with a resume that emphasizes relevant backend systems experience. From there, Commure's process typically involves a recruiter screen, technical assessments, and a system design interview.
How do I time my application to align with H-1B filing deadlines?
The H-1B cap lottery registration opens each March, with an October 1 start date for selected petitions. To meet that window, you'll need an offer and a filed petition before the April 1 filing deadline. Starting your job search at Commure by January gives you enough runway to complete interviews, negotiate an offer, and give the company time to prepare and submit your petition through USCIS.
