Job Roles at COWI Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in COWI Visa Sponsorship USA
Target technical and engineering roles
COWI's U.S. sponsorship activity is concentrated in specialized technical positions tied to infrastructure, environmental, and transport consulting. Focus your applications on roles that clearly require advanced engineering or scientific expertise to strengthen your case for sponsorship.
Understand the H-1B timeline before you apply
COWI sponsors H-1B visas, which means your start date depends on the annual lottery cycle. If you're targeting COWI, plan well ahead, applications must be submitted months before your intended start date to align with USCIS processing windows.
Ask about Green Card support early
COWI has sponsored Green Cards for employees, suggesting long-term workforce investment in some roles. During interviews, ask directly whether the position includes Green Card sponsorship and at what career stage that process typically begins for consulting staff.
Highlight project-specific technical credentials
Consulting & Professional Services firms like COWI evaluate candidates on domain depth, not just generalist skills. Tailor your resume and cover letter to specific project types, bridge engineering, environmental assessment, transit planning, that match COWI's active practice areas.
Look for roles that match your specialty occupation
H-1B eligibility requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation. For COWI, this typically means roles demanding a degree in a specific engineering or scientific field. Review job descriptions carefully to confirm the degree requirement is explicit, not just preferred.
Use a platform that filters by real sponsorship history
Not every job posting signals whether a company will actually sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, useful when targeting niche consulting firms like COWI where sponsorship patterns matter more than raw job volume.

Does COWI sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, COWI sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying employees in the United States. Sponsorship is generally tied to specialized technical roles in engineering and consulting where a specific degree is required. If you're applying for a position at COWI, confirm sponsorship availability directly with the hiring team during the interview process, as not every role may be eligible.
What types of visas does COWI sponsor?
COWI sponsors both H-1B nonimmigrant work visas and employment-based Green Cards, including EB-2 and EB-3 categories. The H-1B covers temporary work authorization for specialty occupation roles, while the Green Card pathways offer a route to permanent residence for longer-tenured employees. The availability of each visa type depends on the role, business need, and the employee's qualifications.
Which roles at COWI are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at COWI tends to follow the company's core service lines: infrastructure engineering, environmental consulting, and transport planning. Roles requiring a specialized degree in civil, structural, or environmental engineering are the most natural fit for H-1B sponsorship. Senior technical contributors and project leads are also more likely to be considered for Green Card sponsorship given the long-term nature of the process.
How do I find COWI visa sponsorship jobs on Migrate Mate?
Migrate Mate tracks companies with verified sponsorship histories, including COWI, so you can search for open roles without having to guess whether sponsorship is on the table. Filter by company name or visa type to see current listings tied to COWI's U.S. operations. This saves time compared to applying broadly and asking about sponsorship after the fact.
How do I approach the COWI application process as a visa applicant?
Start by identifying roles that explicitly require your degree field, since H-1B eligibility hinges on that match. Apply with a resume tailored to COWI's technical practice areas, and raise visa sponsorship early, ideally during the first recruiter call. If the role proceeds to an offer, your employer will need to file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS, so building in lead time is essential.
