Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Nursing Jobs at CoxHealth Jobs
Get Your Credentials Evaluated Early
Before applying, submit your nursing credentials to a CGFNS-approved evaluation service. CoxHealth, like most U.S. hospital systems, requires credential verification before extending an offer to internationally trained nurses.
Target CoxHealth's High-Volume Nursing Units
CoxHealth consistently posts openings across med-surg, ICU, and emergency nursing. Focusing your applications on these high-demand units improves your odds of reaching a hiring manager who can move quickly on sponsorship conversations.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Sponsoring Nursing Roles
Searching general job boards won't tell you which postings actively support visa sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter CoxHealth nursing roles specifically by the visa types they've sponsored, so you're only applying to positions that fit your situation.
Clarify Visa Type Before Signing Anything
CoxHealth sponsors multiple visa pathways for nursing, including EB-2, EB-3, and TN. Ask your recruiter which category applies to your role before the offer stage. EB-3 typically fits most staff RN positions, but the job duties and your degree level both matter.
Understand the PERM Timeline Before Your OPT Expires
If you're on F-1 OPT, know that PERM-based green card sponsorship through EB-3 takes significantly longer than your OPT window. Discuss bridging options with CoxHealth's HR team well before your authorized period ends to avoid a gap in work authorization.
Pass NCLEX Before Outreach to Hiring Managers
CoxHealth requires state licensure to hire into a nursing role. Completing NCLEX and obtaining your Missouri or Arkansas RN license before you contact recruiters removes a major conditional obstacle and signals you're ready to start without delays.

Find Nursing at CoxHealth JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CoxHealth sponsor H-1B visas for Nurses?
CoxHealth's primary sponsorship pathways for nursing roles are EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas rather than H-1B. Standard staff RN positions are generally classified as specialty occupations under H-1B criteria, but CoxHealth's documented sponsorship history for nursing skews toward permanent residency tracks. Confirm directly with the recruiter which visa applies to your specific role.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at CoxHealth?
Apply directly through CoxHealth's careers portal, where nursing roles are listed by unit and location across their Springfield, Missouri system. Before applying, confirm you hold or are eligible for Missouri RN licensure, and have your credential evaluation ready if you trained outside the U.S. You can also browse CoxHealth's open nursing positions filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate.
Which visa types does CoxHealth commonly use to sponsor Nursing roles?
CoxHealth has sponsored nurses on EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa tracks, as well as F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for students in clinical rotations. TN visa sponsorship is also available for Canadian and Mexican nurses who qualify under the USMCA professional categories. The right pathway depends on your nationality, education level, and whether the role is a permanent or transitional position.
What qualifications does CoxHealth expect from internationally trained Nursing candidates?
CoxHealth requires active RN licensure in Missouri or Arkansas, a CGFNS credential evaluation for internationally trained nurses, and English proficiency. Most staff RN roles require a BSN, though some units accept an ADN with a commitment to complete a bachelor's degree. Clinical experience in your specialty area, particularly ICU, emergency, or med-surg, strengthens your application significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Nursing role at CoxHealth?
Timeline depends heavily on the visa pathway. TN sponsorship can happen quickly, often at the border or through USCIS. F-1 OPT authorizes work for up to 12 months post-graduation. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM involves DOL labor market testing followed by USCIS petition adjudication, which can span one to several years depending on your country of birth and current visa backlogs. Start conversations with CoxHealth's HR team as early as possible.
