Align your portfolio to AEC workflows
DLR Group builds software for architecture, engineering, and construction contexts. Projects tied to BIM integration, computational design, or facility data management will resonate far more than general full-stack work when you're preparing your resume and portfolio.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before applying
Federal contractors and firms with qualifying government projects must use E-Verify. Confirming DLR Group's enrollment before you apply tells you the infrastructure for employment eligibility verification is already in place, which matters for your visa authorization timeline.
Target roles tied to specific project verticals
DLR Group organizes work around verticals like justice, healthcare, and education facilities. Software Engineer openings attached to a specific practice area signal an active project need, which strengthens the internal business case your employer will need to justify an H-1B petition.
Start OPT authorization before your graduation date
USCIS recommends filing your OPT application up to 90 days before your program end date. For a construction-tech firm with project-driven hiring cycles, late OPT activation can cost you an offer if the team needs someone to start on a fixed project timeline.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
DLR Group posts Software Engineer roles across multiple locations and practice areas. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for positions where H-1B, F-1 OPT, or TN sponsorship has been confirmed, so you're not guessing which listings will actually support your status.
Clarify H-1B timing with your recruiter before offers
The H-1B cap registration window opens in March each year, with an October 1 start date if selected. If you receive an offer outside that window, ask your recruiter early whether cap-exempt filing or a bridge through OPT is part of their standard process.

Find Software Engineer at DLR Group JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does DLR Group sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, DLR Group sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineer roles. The firm has a history of supporting visa petitions for technical positions across its practice areas. If you're targeting a specific role, confirm sponsorship availability directly with the recruiter during early conversations, since sponsorship decisions can vary by project need and hiring timeline.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at DLR Group?
You can browse open Software Engineer positions through DLR Group's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles that match your authorization needs. When applying, tailor your materials to DLR Group's AEC focus, highlighting any experience with construction technology, digital delivery platforms, or building data systems.
Which visa types does DLR Group support for Software Engineers?
DLR Group has sponsored H-1B visas and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for Software Engineers, making it accessible at multiple career stages. TN visas are also an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying software roles. The right path depends on your nationality, current status, and where you are in your academic or early career timeline.
What qualifications does DLR Group expect for Software Engineer roles?
DLR Group typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field. Relevant experience with data platforms, API development, or tools used in architecture and construction environments strengthens your application. Roles tied to specific practice verticals may also require familiarity with facility management systems or BIM-adjacent software.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at DLR Group?
H-1B registration opens each March for an October 1 start date, so coordinating your job search and offer timeline around that window is important. If you're on F-1 OPT, your 12-month authorization can bridge you through the lottery cycle. Discuss timing with your recruiter early so DLR Group's HR team can prepare the USCIS petition within the required filing window.
