Align your degree to BCG's case work
BCG sponsors E-3 for roles requiring a directly related bachelor's degree. Map your field of study to the specific practice area you're targeting, economics for financial advisory, engineering for operations, computer science for digital and technology consulting.
Target associate and consultant-level postings
BCG's E-3 sponsorship is concentrated at the associate and consultant tiers, where specialty occupation requirements are clearest. Applying to analyst or intern roles that don't require a specific degree field raises your denial risk at the consulate.
Request the LCA before your interview closes
BCG's recruiting team moves quickly after offers are extended. Ask your recruiter explicitly whether the Labor Condition Application will be filed through DOL before your consulate appointment window, so the certified LCA is ready when you schedule your interview.
Verify your prevailing wage tier early
BCG sets E-3 salaries at or above DOL prevailing wage requirements. Cross-check your offered salary against the OFLC Wage Search for your job title and work location before signing your offer letter to confirm compliance.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm your role qualifies
Not every BCG posting clearly signals E-3 eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to search BCG's verified LCA filing history by role and location, so you can confirm the position you're applying for has been sponsored for E-3 before you start the process.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent at your consulate
BCG consulting roles are typically two to three year assignments, which can raise dual-intent questions at the consulate. Bring documentation of your Australian ties and a clear explanation of your post-assignment plans to support your nonimmigrant intent.
Boston Consulting Group E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Boston Consulting Group sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Boston Consulting Group sponsors E-3 visas for eligible Australian professionals. Sponsorship is primarily offered for consulting, strategy, analytics, and technology roles that meet the specialty occupation definition. BCG has an established immigration support process and works with candidates to complete the Labor Condition Application and consular documentation required for E-3 approval.
Which roles at Boston Consulting Group are most likely to receive E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at BCG is most common for associate, consultant, and specialist roles in management consulting, digital technology, data analytics, and financial advisory practices. These positions typically require a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, which satisfies the specialty occupation requirement that USCIS and the consulate assess during the E-3 application.
How do I navigate the E-3 application process after receiving a BCG offer?
After BCG extends an offer, your recruiter coordinates with the firm's immigration team to file the Labor Condition Application with DOL. Once the LCA is certified, you complete the DS-160, pay the MRV fee, and schedule your consulate interview in Australia. BCG's immigration support typically guides you through each step, but confirming timelines with your recruiter early avoids delays.
How long does E-3 sponsorship take at Boston Consulting Group?
The DOL typically certifies an LCA within seven business days. Consulate interview wait times vary by location and season, but most Australian applicants at Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth receive a decision the same day. End-to-end, most BCG candidates complete the E-3 process within four to six weeks of receiving a certified LCA from DOL.
How do I find open E-3 roles at Boston Consulting Group?
Migrate Mate surfaces BCG job postings filtered by E-3 sponsorship history, so you can focus on roles the firm has actively filed Labor Condition Applications for. This saves time compared to applying broadly and asking recruiters about sponsorship after the fact. Target practice areas where BCG's E-3 filing history is strongest to maximize your chances.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Boston Consulting Group?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
