About Cartesia
Our mission is to build the next generation of AI: ubiquitous, interactive intelligence that runs wherever you are. Today, not even the best models can continuously process and reason over a year-long stream of audio, video and text—1B text tokens, 10B audio tokens and 1T video tokens—let alone do this on-device.
We're pioneering the model architectures that will make this possible. Our founding team met as PhDs at the Stanford AI Lab, where we invented State Space Models or SSMs, a new primitive for training efficient, large-scale foundation models. Our team combines deep expertise in model innovation and systems engineering paired with a design-minded product engineering team to build and ship cutting edge models and experiences.
We're funded by leading investors at Index Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners, along with Factory, Conviction, A Star, General Catalyst, SV Angel, Databricks and others. We're fortunate to have the support of many amazing advisors, and 90+ angels across many industries, including the world's foremost experts in AI.
About the Role
We’re hiring our first Solutions Engineer to help turn Cartesia’s voice AI infrastructure into enterprise adoption. Our customers are building real-time voice agents, call automation systems, and AI workflows that depend on low latency, reliability, and production-grade integration. As a Solutions Engineer, you will partner closely with Account Executives to lead the technical side of strategic deals — from initial discovery through proof-of-concept and technical validation.
You will operate at the intersection of engineering and go-to-market, translating customer workflows and infrastructure constraints into clear architectural paths forward.
This is a high-agency, hands-on role. You’ll write code, build demos, prototype integrations, and run technical deep dives with engineering leaders. You won’t inherit a mature playbook — you’ll help build it by creating demo environments, documentation, and repeatable processes that scale as we grow.
Solutions Engineers are critical to our growth: deals close because the architecture is sound, the integration works, and the customer trusts us to power real-time systems in production.
Your Impact
-
Own the technical sales cycle – Lead discovery, architecture discussions, API deep dives, and integration planning across strategic enterprise deals.
-
Deliver tailored, high-impact demos – Translate Cartesia’s voice AI into customer-specific workflows that reflect real latency and infrastructure constraints.
-
Design and deliver high-impact proofs-of-concept – Scope and test integrations that confirm performance, batching, throughput, and deployment assumptions before contracts are signed.
-
Act as a trusted technical advisor – Build credibility with engineering and product leaders by understanding their stack and real-time system requirements.
-
Lead infrastructure conversations – Reason through GPU sizing, scaling models, cloud vs. on-prem tradeoffs, and deployment patterns for voice and real-time AI systems.
-
Unblock pre-sale integrations – Debug API usage, prototype workflows, and resolve technical objections that would otherwise stall momentum.
-
Translate field signal into product leverage – Surface recurring integration patterns, performance gaps, and feature needs to Engineering and Product.
-
Build the SE foundation – Create reusable demo environments, documentation, and playbooks that scale our enterprise motion.
-
Support strategic deals – Work closely with Account Executives and founders as a technical co-pilot in complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
What You Bring
-
3–7+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or developer-facing technical roles at a high-growth B2B SaaS or infrastructure company.
-
Demonstrated ability to scope and execute POCs end-to-end — gathering requirements, building working integrations, and presenting results clearly.
-
Strong engineering foundation — you can write and debug code (Python preferred), understand APIs deeply, and integrate technical products into real-world systems.
-
Comfort discussing cloud and containerized environments (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes), including deployment models, scaling assumptions, and performance tradeoffs.
-
Proven ability to influence executive and senior technical stakeholders — translating complex technical concepts into clear business value.
-
Excellent communicator who can move fluidly between backend engineers, ML teams, and executive audiences in the same conversation.
-
Customer-first mindset — strong discovery skills and the ability to turn ambiguous requirements into structured technical solutions.
-
High agency and proactive ownership — you pick up missing knowledge quickly and drive problems to resolution.
Nice-to-Have
-
Hands-on experience with voice AI, speech systems (ASR/TTS), or real-time/streaming architectures.
-
Multilingual fluency or experience supporting customers across international markets and non-English language deployments.
-
Experience working with AI/ML APIs, LLM-based systems, or real-time inference pipelines.
-
Prior experience as a software engineer or in a deeply technical role before moving into a customer-facing position.
-
Experience supporting enterprise deployments across VPC or on-prem environments.
-
Familiarity with developer-led or product-led growth (PLG) motions and technical buyer personas.
-
Experience as an early or founding Solutions Engineer at a startup.

Map your degree to Cartesia's roles
E-3 requires your degree to directly match the specialty occupation. For Cartesia AI's engineering and research roles, a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field strengthens your case. A marketing or business degree won't support a software engineering E-3 application.
Target Cartesia's technical teams specifically
Cartesia AI builds real-time AI inference infrastructure, so its E-3 filings concentrate in software engineering and ML research. Focus your applications on those teams rather than general or operations roles, which are less likely to generate an E-3 offer.
Confirm the LCA wage before accepting any offer
Before signing an offer letter, ask Cartesia's HR team to confirm the prevailing wage level on the Labor Condition Application. Use the OFLC Wage Search to verify your role's wage tier independently. A Level I wage can complicate future renewals if your responsibilities grow.
Use Migrate Mate to find Cartesia's filing history
Search Cartesia AI on Migrate Mate to see its E-3 and H-1B filing history by role and department. That data tells you which job titles have received visa support before, so you can target the positions most likely to lead to an offer with sponsorship.
Get your O*NET occupation code confirmed early
Cartesia AI will need to classify your role using an O*NET occupation code when filing the LCA with DOL. Review the O*NET profile for your target job title before your offer stage so you can confirm the specialty occupation classification matches your degree and responsibilities.
Prepare for consular processing with a complete employer packet
E-3 doesn't require USCIS petition approval, but your consular interview requires a certified LCA and a detailed offer letter from Cartesia AI. Request the full packet, including the LCA certification number, at least two weeks before your scheduled appointment to allow time for any corrections.
Cartesia AI E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Cartesia AI sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Cartesia AI sponsors E-3 visas for Australian nationals in qualifying technical roles. The company operates in the AI software space, where software engineering and machine learning research positions typically meet the specialty occupation requirement. Your degree must directly relate to the role you're applying for to qualify.
Which roles at Cartesia AI typically receive E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Cartesia AI is concentrated in technical departments, particularly software engineering and AI research. These roles align clearly with specialty occupation requirements because they demand a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. General business, sales, or operations roles are less likely to support an E-3 application.
How do I start the E-3 application process with Cartesia AI?
After receiving a written job offer, Cartesia AI's HR or legal team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. Once the LCA is certified, you take it along with your offer letter to your U.S. consular interview in Australia. USCIS is not involved in standard consular E-3 processing. The consulate issues the visa directly.
How long does the E-3 process take with Cartesia AI as the sponsor?
DOL typically certifies an LCA within seven business days of submission. Consular appointment wait times in Australia vary by location and season, but most applicants complete the full process within four to eight weeks of receiving a certified LCA. Migrate Mate can file the employer's paperwork and help you track where things stand throughout the process.
What should I do if Cartesia AI hasn't sponsored an E-3 before?
Ask the hiring manager directly whether the company has sponsored work visas, including H-1B visa, since that indicates familiarity with the LCA process that E-3 also requires. If their legal team is unfamiliar with E-3, USCIS and DOL guidance documents cover employer obligations. The process is less complex than H-1B, which can help persuade a hesitant employer.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Cartesia AI?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
