Align your portfolio to Gensler's practice areas
Gensler organizes work across distinct practice areas including workplace, hospitality, retail, and civic design. Tailor your portfolio to show project experience that maps directly to the studio you're targeting, not a generic collection of work spanning unrelated building types.
Confirm your degree supports specialty occupation
E-3 requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it typically demands a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. For architecture and interior design roles at Gensler, ensure your Australian degree transcripts and any credential evaluations are ready before interviews begin.
Research prevailing wage before salary negotiations
Gensler's offer must meet the DOL prevailing wage for your role and work location. Look up the applicable wage level using the OFLC Wage Search before you negotiate, so you understand the floor your offer must clear and can evaluate whether the package is compliant.
Clarify which studio will file your LCA
Gensler operates multiple U.S. studios, and the Labor Condition Application is tied to your specific work location. If your role involves multiple offices, confirm with HR which primary location will appear on the LCA, since that determines the prevailing wage rate that applies to your position.
Use Migrate Mate to prepare your E-3 filing documents
Once Gensler extends an offer and the LCA is certified, you'll need to prepare your consular application package. Use Migrate Mate to organize your DS-160, support documents, and filing steps so your application is complete and accurate before your Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth interview.
Raise E-3 sponsorship directly during offer discussions
Gensler has an established immigration process, but internal HR timelines vary by studio and hiring cycle. Ask explicitly during the offer stage who manages visa filings, whether an immigration attorney is assigned, and what the expected timeline is from offer acceptance to your LCA certification.
Gensler E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does M Arthur Gensler Jr Associates sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Gensler sponsors E-3 visas for qualified Australian professionals. The firm has an established record of visa sponsorship across its U.S. studios, particularly for roles in architecture, interior design, and related design disciplines. Sponsorship is tied to individual hires, so eligibility is confirmed at the offer stage rather than advertised upfront.
Which roles at Gensler typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Gensler most commonly applies to architecture, interior design, urban design, and design technology roles that require a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. These positions satisfy the specialty occupation requirement under E-3 rules. Roles in project management or business operations may qualify depending on degree alignment, but design and technical positions are the most straightforward.
How do I start the E-3 application process after receiving a Gensler offer?
After accepting an offer, Gensler's HR or an assigned immigration attorney will file a Labor Condition Application with DOL. Once the LCA is certified, you complete the DS-160 online, schedule your consulate interview in Australia, and attend with your supporting documents. Migrate Mate can help you organize your filing package and prepare for the consular stage.
How long does E-3 sponsorship processing take at Gensler?
The LCA certification step typically takes seven business days through DOL's FLAG system. After that, consulate appointment availability in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth determines your overall timeline. Most applicants complete the process within four to eight weeks of LCA certification, though peak periods at consulates can extend that window. Gensler's immigration team can give you a studio-specific estimate.
How do I find E-3 job openings at Gensler?
Search Gensler's careers page directly and filter by U.S. locations. You can also use Migrate Mate to identify current openings at employers with verified E-3 sponsorship history, which helps you focus your applications on firms that have filed E-3 Labor Condition Applications rather than those that sponsor only H-1B visa or other visa types.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at M Arthur Gensler Jr Associates?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
