Where you will be working
Resolution Copper has the potential to supply nearly 25% of the US copper demand and create several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the Pioneer Mining District of Arizona, with an economic value of several billion dollars over the estimated mine life.
The project will rely on a technique called block caving to extract the deposit that lies more than 2,000 meters deep. This technique uses gravity to help remove the ore and is the most viable way to recover the resource.
Resolution Copper will continue underground development, conduct extensive drilling and orebody testing, plus maintain the permitting and public engagement process.

Align your degree to mining roles
U S Borax's E-3 roles typically require a degree in a directly related field like mining engineering, geoscience, or environmental science. Before applying, confirm your Australian qualification maps to the specific specialty occupation listed, not just a broadly related discipline.
Research prevailing wage before negotiating
U S Borax must file a Labor Condition Application certifying your salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to find the wage level before your offer conversation, so you can negotiate from an informed position.
Check your O*NET occupation code early
Mining and natural resources roles can span multiple O*NET occupation codes, and the one your employer selects affects both your LCA and your visa classification. Review the O*NET profile for your target role before the offer stage to flag any mismatch with your actual job duties.
Use Migrate Mate to verify U S Borax's filing history
Before investing time in your application, use Migrate Mate to review U S Borax's E-3 and LCA filing history by role and location. That data tells you which departments have sponsored before and helps you target the teams most likely to support your application.
Prepare your credential documentation upfront
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 purposes, but U S Borax's HR team may request a formal credential evaluation. Get a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services evaluation done before your offer letter is finalized.
Confirm the LCA is certified before your interview
Your consular interview at Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth can only proceed after DOL certifies the LCA, which typically takes seven business days. Confirm with U S Borax's HR or legal team that certification is complete before you schedule your appointment to avoid rescheduling delays.
Kennecott Utah Copper E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does U S Borax sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, U S Borax sponsors E-3 visas for Australian nationals in qualifying specialty occupations. The company has an established employment-based visa program that includes E-3 alongside other work visa types. Sponsored roles tend to be concentrated in technical and scientific functions tied to its mining and natural resources operations.
Which roles at U S Borax typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at U S Borax is most common in roles requiring a directly related bachelor's degree, such as mining engineering, geoscience, environmental science, and process engineering. Corporate functions like finance or data analysis may also qualify if the job duties meet the specialty occupation standard under USCIS guidelines.
How do I start the E-3 application process at U S Borax?
Once U S Borax extends a job offer, their legal or HR team files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL. After DOL certifies the LCA, you complete the DS-160, pay the consular fee, and schedule your visa interview at a U.S. consulate in Australia. USCIS is not involved in consular E-3 applications.
How long does the E-3 sponsorship process take at U S Borax?
The LCA certification step typically takes around seven business days with DOL. After that, consulate appointment availability drives the overall timeline. Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth each have different wait times depending on the period. Most applicants complete the full process within four to six weeks of receiving their offer letter.
How do I find open E-3 roles at U S Borax?
Search Migrate Mate to see current E-3 eligible openings at U S Borax filtered by the company's verified LCA filing history. That gives you a clearer picture of which roles are active and which teams have sponsored Australian nationals before, saving time compared to reviewing general job boards with no visa sponsorship filter.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at U S Borax?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
