Align your degree to the role
E-3 requires a direct connection between your degree field and the job. Macquarie Holdings typically hires for finance, investment analysis, and corporate strategy roles, so a degree in finance, economics, or business strengthens your case. Check O*NET to confirm the educational requirement for your specific occupation.
Research prevailing wage before negotiating
Your offer must meet the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Before your first salary conversation with Macquarie Holdings, run your job title and city through the OFLC Wage Search so you know the minimum threshold and can frame your expectations accurately.
Confirm LCA filing timelines with HR early
Macquarie Holdings files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your visa application can proceed. Ask the HR team when they plan to submit it, since LCA certification typically takes seven business days and must happen before your consulate appointment is useful to schedule.
Use Migrate Mate to track Macquarie's E-3 filing history
Before your interview, use Migrate Mate to review Macquarie Holdings's E-3 LCA filings by role and location. This shows you which job titles the company has historically sponsored, so you can target the right teams and frame your application around roles they've approved before.
Prepare for specialty occupation scrutiny at the consulate
Consular officers assess whether your role at Macquarie Holdings qualifies as a specialty occupation. Bring your offer letter, a job description that specifies degree requirements, and evidence your degree field matches the role. Vague offer letters that omit educational requirements are a common source of delays.
Address dual intent proactively in your application
The E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, meaning you must demonstrate intent to return to Australia. If you've previously held or applied for immigrant status, prepare a clear explanation of your current nonimmigrant intent before your consulate interview at Macquarie Holdings's sponsorship stage.
Macquarie Group E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Macquarie Holdings sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Macquarie Holdings sponsors E-3 visas for eligible Australian nationals. The company has an active E-3 sponsorship program, particularly for roles in finance, investment operations, and corporate functions. Sponsorship is typically initiated after a formal offer is extended, at which point Macquarie Holdings's HR or immigration team manages the Labor Condition Application filing with DOL.
Which roles and departments at Macquarie Holdings typically receive E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Macquarie Holdings is most common for roles in financial analysis, investment management, corporate strategy, and operations. These positions generally meet the specialty occupation requirement because they demand a degree in a directly related field such as finance, economics, or accounting. Roles requiring general business skills without a specific degree requirement are less likely to qualify.
How do I apply for an E-3 visa through Macquarie Holdings?
Once Macquarie Holdings extends a formal offer, their HR or immigration team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. After LCA certification, you schedule a consulate interview in Australia and submit your DS-160, LCA, offer letter, and academic credentials. USCIS is not involved in the E-3 consular process, which makes it faster than H-1B visa petition-based routes.
How long does the E-3 sponsorship process take at Macquarie Holdings?
The timeline from offer acceptance to visa stamp is typically four to eight weeks for straightforward cases. DOL certifies the LCA within about seven business days, and consulate appointment availability in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth drives most of the variance. Administrative processing can add time if the consular officer requests additional documentation after your interview.
How do I find open E-3 roles at Macquarie Holdings?
Migrate Mate lists active job openings at companies with verified E-3 filing history, including Macquarie Holdings, so you can filter for roles that match your background without manually researching sponsorship willingness. You can also monitor Macquarie Holdings's careers page directly and target departments where the company has a pattern of sponsoring Australian nationals.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Macquarie Holdings?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
