Map your degree to MaintainX's stack
MaintainX builds enterprise maintenance software, so degrees in computer science, software engineering, or information systems carry the most weight. Cross-check your field of study against O*NET to confirm your role qualifies as a specialty occupation before applying.
Target technical roles with DOL wage data
Before you apply, run your target job title through the OFLC Wage Search to see the prevailing wage for your location and experience level. MaintainX must certify your salary meets that threshold on the Labor Condition Application, so knowing the figure in advance helps you evaluate any offer.
Ask about LCA status during the offer stage
Once you have a verbal offer, ask MaintainX's recruiting team whether they've started the Labor Condition Application with DOL. The LCA must be certified before your visa application, and knowing the timeline early helps you plan your consulate appointment.
Use Migrate Mate to organize your E-3 application
After MaintainX issues your offer letter and certified LCA, use Migrate Mate to prepare and file your E-3 application. Having a dedicated E-3 expert review your documents reduces the risk of a 221(g) administrative processing hold at the consulate.
Prepare for specialty occupation scrutiny upfront
Consular officers can question whether a role genuinely requires a specialty degree. For product or operations titles at MaintainX, gather job descriptions, your degree certificate, and any transcripts that show direct alignment between your coursework and the technical responsibilities listed.
Factor in consulate appointment wait times
E-3 interviews are available at U.S. consulates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. Wait times vary by location and season, so check current availability as soon as your LCA is certified rather than waiting until the rest of your paperwork is ready.
MaintainX E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does MaintainX sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, MaintainX sponsors E-3 visas for qualifying Australian professionals. The company operates in the technology and software sector, which regularly produces roles that meet the specialty occupation standard the E-3 requires. Sponsorship is typically tied to roles in software engineering, product, and technical operations where a relevant degree is a genuine job requirement.
Which roles at MaintainX are most likely to qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Software engineering, product management, and technical operations roles at MaintainX are the strongest candidates for E-3 sponsorship because they require a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. General business or sales roles without a clear degree requirement are harder to qualify and are less commonly sponsored.
How do I start the E-3 application process with MaintainX?
The process begins when MaintainX files a Labor Condition Application with DOL on your behalf. Once that's certified, you complete a DS-160, pay the visa fee, and attend an interview at a U.S. consulate in Australia. You don't need to be in the U.S. first, and no lottery is involved.
How long does E-3 sponsorship take at MaintainX?
DOL typically certifies the Labor Condition Application within seven business days. After that, your timeline depends on consulate appointment availability in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth. From offer letter to visa stamp, most applicants complete the process in four to eight weeks, though administrative processing can extend that window.
How do I make sure my E-3 application is filed correctly?
Once MaintainX provides your offer letter and certified LCA, the application filing is your responsibility. Migrate Mate's E-3 service pairs you with a dedicated visa expert who reviews your documents and prepares your application before your consulate appointment, which reduces the risk of delays from incomplete or mismatched paperwork.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at MaintainX?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
