Who are we?
HERO NYC is the premium experiential brand for the next era of immersive storytelling. Our stories build from epic characters, inviting guests to step into the far future with spatial audio and video, set against the iconic Rockefeller Center as its backdrop. Offering intrinsically diversified programming, HERO appeals to daytime and nighttime audiences alike with unique partnership and event strategies. Fueled by imagination and innovation, HERO is the destination for all-encompassing narratives of today and beyond.
About this role:
HERO NYC is seeking an Events & Partnerships Project Manager on a contract basis through the end of December to drive both event sales and community engagement, while serving as HERO’s primary liaison to Rockefeller Center. This hybrid role combines strategic sales leadership, project management, event coordination, and community/partnership building. The contractor will be responsible for developing revenue opportunities through private events, while also cultivating strong relationships with Rock Center, tenants, local partners, and cultural institutions to bring engaging programming, marketing initiatives, and collaborations to life.
The ideal candidate is equal parts sales-driven strategist and relationship-oriented community builder—someone who can close deals, execute flawless events, and foster partnerships that strengthen HERO’s role as a cultural destination within Rockefeller Center. Given the defined contract term, the successful candidate will be someone who can hit the ground running, deliver measurable impact quickly, and drive results through the peak holiday and year-end season.
SCOPE:
Event Sales & Coordination
- Develop and execute a robust private event sales strategy with defined revenue targets and clear project timelines for the contract period.
- Source, pitch, and close new event clients including corporations, brands, and agencies, ensuring each opportunity is tracked and managed through an organized pipeline.
- Conduct tours and present HERO’s unique event capabilities, tailoring proposals to client needs and coordinating internal resources to align with project scope and timelines.
- Partner with clients through the full lifecycle from initial inquiry and contracting to event planning, production, and post-event wrap—managing project plans, deliverables, and communication across all stakeholders to ensure a seamless experience.
- Lead internal project management for sold events, facilitating cross-departmental check-ins, maintaining event trackers, and ensuring budgets, milestones, and deadlines are met.
- Work closely with production and operations teams to deliver elevated, immersive events, serving as the central point of contact for schedules, client updates, and execution plans.
Community & Partnerships
- Act as HERO’s primary liaison to Rockefeller Center, strengthening relationships with internal teams and tenants.
- Identify, secure, and manage partnerships that drive programming, sponsorship, and co-marketing opportunities.
- Collaborate with Rock Center and external partners on seasonal activations, public events, and brand integrations that build community and enhance visibility.
- Work alongside marketing and creative teams to co-develop campaigns and communications that amplify HERO’s role in Rock Center’s cultural ecosystem.
- Represent HERO at Rock Center community meetings, events, and networking opportunities.
Strategic Growth & Engagement
- Develop initiatives that expand HERO’s reach across cultural, corporate, and community audiences during the contract term.
- Monitor event sales performance and partnership ROI, providing regular reporting on outcomes and growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain a strong industry network to keep HERO front-of-mind among potential partners, tenants, and event decision-makers.
- Ensure clean handoff of accounts, pipeline, partner relationships, and documentation at the conclusion of the contract.
Compensation
This is a contract engagement running from immediate start date through January 31, 2026. Compensation will be paid as a monthly rate of $7,500-$10,000 per month based on experience.
HERO provides equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law. Align your portfolio to Matte Finish's client work
Marketing and advertising roles require demonstrable output. Tailor your portfolio to reflect the type of brand or campaign work Matte Finish handles before you apply, so your E-3 specialty occupation case is concrete from the first conversation.
Confirm your degree field matches the role
E-3 requires a direct connection between your degree and the specific role you're applying for. A marketing or communications degree typically supports advertising roles, but a misaligned field can invite RFEs, so review the job description carefully before proceeding.
Request the Labor Condition Application early
Once you have an offer, ask the hiring team to begin the LCA filing with DOL promptly. LCA certification is required before your consulate appointment, and delays at this step are the most common reason E-3 timelines extend beyond expectations.
Check prevailing wage requirements before negotiating salary
Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the prevailing wage for your specific job title and location before you accept an offer. Your E-3 salary must meet or exceed this figure, and renegotiating after the LCA is filed creates complications.
Use Migrate Mate to verify Matte Finish's E-3 filing history
Before your first interview, search Matte Finish on Migrate Mate to review its E-3 LCA filing history by role. This tells you which job titles the company has sponsored before and helps you frame your application around roles with a clear precedent.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation before the consulate
At your visa interview, officers may probe whether your role genuinely requires a bachelor's degree. Bring your offer letter, degree transcripts, and any position description that references degree requirements explicitly to support your specialty occupation claim.
Matte Finish E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Matte Finish sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Matte Finish sponsors E-3 visas for qualifying Australian professionals. The company has filed E-3 Labor Condition Applications through DOL for roles in its marketing and advertising operations. Sponsorship is tied to specific open positions, so your best entry point is applying for a role that aligns with your degree and professional background.
Which roles at Matte Finish typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Matte Finish is most commonly associated with specialty occupation roles in areas like brand strategy, digital marketing, content, and account management. These positions typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, which satisfies the E-3 specialty occupation standard set by USCIS.
How do I start the E-3 application process at Matte Finish?
Once Matte Finish extends a job offer, the company files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. After LCA certification, you complete the DS-160, pay the MRV fee, and attend a consulate interview in Australia. Migrate Mate can handle the filing paperwork on your behalf if you want dedicated support through each step.
How long does the E-3 process take at Matte Finish?
The timeline depends largely on LCA processing and your consulate's appointment availability. DOL typically certifies LCAs within seven business days. Consulate appointment wait times in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth vary by season. From offer acceptance to visa stamp, most applicants should plan for three to six weeks under normal conditions.
How do I strengthen my E-3 application for a role at Matte Finish?
Tie your degree field directly to the advertised role in every document you submit. Marketing and advertising positions carry stronger E-3 specialty occupation arguments when your degree is in marketing, communications, or a closely related discipline. Verify the offered salary meets DOL prevailing wage standards using the OFLC Wage Search before signing your offer letter.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Matte Finish?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
