Match your degree to MSK's specialty occupation standard
MSK's E-3 filings concentrate in roles requiring a directly related bachelor's degree or higher. Before applying, confirm your Australian qualification maps to the specific SOC code for your target role using O*NET to preempt any specialty occupation challenge.
Target MSK's clinical research and oncology divisions
MSK's sponsorship activity clusters in research operations, biostatistics, clinical data management, and oncology nursing. Focus your applications on these departments, where the employer already has established LCA filing workflows and immigration counsel in place.
Request LCA filing before your offer letter is finalized
MSK's HR and immigration teams typically process LCA certification through DOL before issuing a final offer. Ask during the offer stage whether the LCA has been submitted, since DOL's seven-business-day certification window affects your consulate appointment timeline.
Verify your prevailing wage tier early in negotiations
Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the prevailing wage for your role's SOC code and MSK's New York City location before salary discussions. Your offered wage must meet or exceed the prevailing wage for USCIS to approve the E-3 petition.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm MSK's E-3 filing history
Search MSK on Migrate Mate to review verified DOL Labor Condition Application data for your occupation code. This shows which job titles MSK has sponsored before, helping you position your application for roles with an established sponsorship precedent.
Prepare your credentialing documents before the consulate stage
MSK roles in clinical and research settings often require licensing verification or credential evaluation. Gather your Australian degree transcripts, any CGFNS evaluation if you're in a nursing role, and your certified LCA before booking your U.S. consulate appointment.

Which roles and departments at MSK typically receive E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at MSK concentrates in roles that meet the specialty occupation standard, including clinical research coordinators, biostatisticians, data scientists, research analysts, and certain nursing positions. Departments with recurring sponsorship activity include clinical research operations, cancer informatics, and laboratory sciences. Roles requiring a directly related bachelor's degree or higher are the strongest candidates.
How does the E-3 application process work at Memorial Sloan Kettering?
Once MSK extends a conditional offer, its immigration team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. After DOL certifies the LCA, typically within seven business days, you complete the DS-160 and schedule a consulate interview in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth. MSK provides the certified LCA and a support letter for your appointment. You can track your LCA filing status through USCIS and DOL public records.
How long does E-3 visa processing take when sponsored by MSK?
The timeline from offer acceptance to visa stamp is typically four to eight weeks for straightforward cases. DOL LCA certification takes around seven business days. Consulate appointment availability in Australia is the main variable, with Sydney and Melbourne wait times fluctuating seasonally. Administrative processing after your interview can add two to four weeks in some cases.
How do I find and apply for E-3 sponsored roles at MSK?
Search MSK's career portal using job titles common in clinical research and oncology. On Migrate Mate, you can filter for MSK roles and review verified DOL Labor Condition Application data by occupation code to identify which positions have a documented E-3 sponsorship history. When you reach the offer stage, confirm with MSK's HR team that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation and that the employer will initiate the LCA before your start date.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
