Align your degree to energy roles
Nextdecade LNG hires for technically demanding roles where specialty occupation status depends on a direct degree-to-job match. Map your engineering or energy-related qualification against the specific role using O*NET before applying, so your credentials clearly support the LCA.
Target LNG project development teams
Nextdecade LNG's core work centers on large-scale LNG infrastructure projects. Focus your application on project engineering, commercial development, or environmental compliance roles where the company's E-3 filing history reflects active hiring of Australian professionals with relevant technical backgrounds.
Request LCA filing before your start date
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before your visa interview. Confirm with Nextdecade LNG's HR team that the LCA is certified and reflects your actual job title, location, and prevailing wage before you book your consulate appointment.
Verify your prevailing wage early
Energy sector roles at Nextdecade LNG often carry specific wage level requirements tied to your job classification. Run the OFLC Wage Search using your expected SOC code and Houston work location before negotiating your offer, so your salary meets DOL requirements without last-minute adjustments.
Use Migrate Mate to manage your E-3 filing
Once you have a signed offer from Nextdecade LNG, Migrate Mate handles the end-to-end E-3 filing process at a flat fee, pairing you with a dedicated E-3 visa expert. That covers document preparation, DS-160 guidance, and LCA review without the cost of a traditional immigration lawyer.
Prepare for Houston consulate processing
Most Nextdecade LNG roles are based in Houston, so your E-3 will likely reference a Texas work location. Australian applicants can apply at any U.S. consulate, but confirming your LCA lists the correct work address avoids administrative complications during the consular officer's review.

Being prepared to explain how your degree directly relates to the position speeds up the LCA filing process considerably.
