Align your degree to the role
OneSignal's engineering and product roles require a directly related bachelor's degree, not just any technical background. Map your Australian degree field to the specific job description before applying, a mismatch between your credential and the role title is the most common E-3 denial trigger.
Research OneSignal's active job categories
Focus your search on software engineering and product management roles, where OneSignal has historically filed E-3 LCAs. Applying to a role outside those core technical areas reduces your chances of finding an E-3-experienced hiring manager who knows the process.
Confirm LCA readiness before accepting an offer
Before you sign anything, ask whether OneSignal's HR or legal team has filed E-3 LCAs before. A company new to E-3 filing needs extra lead time, the DOL must certify the LCA before you can attend your consular interview.
Use OFLC Wage Search to set salary expectations
Your E-3 salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your specific occupation code in the San Francisco Bay Area, where OneSignal is headquartered, so you can negotiate from an accurate baseline.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation early
OneSignal roles in software engineering typically fall under O*NET codes that USCIS recognizes as specialty occupations. Pull your O*NET occupation profile and gather evidence your degree field directly corresponds to the role before your first HR conversation.
File your E-3 documents with Migrate Mate
Once OneSignal extends an offer and the LCA is certified, file your E-3 visa application using Migrate Mate, which specializes in E-3 filings for Australians entering the U.S. technology sector. Having your documents reviewed before your consular interview reduces the risk of a 221(g) delay.
OneSignal E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does OneSignal sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, OneSignal sponsors E-3 visas for Australian nationals in qualifying technical roles. The company operates in the technology sector and has filed E-3 Labor Condition Applications through the DOL for positions primarily in software engineering and related disciplines. Confirm sponsorship availability directly with OneSignal's recruiting team during the hiring process.
Which roles at OneSignal typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at OneSignal is most common in software engineering and product roles, where positions require a directly related bachelor's degree, the core E-3 specialty occupation requirement. Roles in sales, operations, or general management are less likely to qualify because the degree-to-role nexus is harder to establish under USCIS standards.
How do I start the E-3 application process with OneSignal?
After receiving a job offer, OneSignal or its legal team files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL. Once the LCA is certified, you complete the DS-160 and schedule your consular interview at a U.S. embassy in Australia. You can use Migrate Mate to handle the filing paperwork and prepare your application documents before the interview.
How long does E-3 sponsorship take at OneSignal?
The DOL typically certifies the LCA within seven business days. Consular appointment wait times in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth vary by season, but most applicants complete the interview and receive their passport back within two to four weeks of the appointment. Total time from offer to work authorization is usually four to six weeks in standard conditions.
How do I strengthen my E-3 application for a OneSignal role?
Make sure your Australian degree field directly corresponds to the specific role title in OneSignal's job description. Gather official transcripts, your credential evaluation if your degree is from a non-U.S. institution, and any evidence showing your qualifications match the O*NET occupation profile for the role. Consular officers assess the degree-to-job nexus closely for software and product positions.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at OneSignal?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
