Align your degree to PassiveLogic's technical roles
E-3 requires your degree field to directly match your job title. For PassiveLogic's research and engineering positions, a degree in systems engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline strengthens your specialty occupation case substantially.
Pull your O*NET occupation profile early
Before applying, confirm your target role maps to a recognized specialty occupation using O*NET. PassiveLogic's research-focused positions typically fall under engineering or computer science SOC codes, which carry clear degree requirements that support E-3 eligibility.
Request LCA details before accepting an offer
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your E-3 appointment. Ask PassiveLogic's hiring team which wage level they intend to certify at so you can verify it against the OFLC Wage Search for your occupation and work location.
Use Migrate Mate to prepare your filing documents
Once PassiveLogic extends an offer, use Migrate Mate to handle the E-3 filing paperwork. The platform is built specifically for E-3 cases and can have your application documents ready within one business day of receiving your offer letter.
Confirm PassiveLogic is enrolled in E-Verify
STEM-adjacent employers often participate in E-Verify, but enrollment isn't universal. Confirming PassiveLogic's E-Verify status before you reach the offer stage helps you anticipate onboarding requirements and avoids surprises during your first weeks of employment.
Schedule your consulate appointment as soon as the LCA is certified
DOL typically certifies LCAs within seven business days. Don't wait for your start date to approach before booking your consulate slot. Appointment availability at Australian consulates can vary by location, and booking immediately after certification keeps your timeline on track.
PassiveLogic E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does PassiveLogic sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, PassiveLogic sponsors E-3 visas for eligible Australian professionals. The company operates in science and research, where roles in engineering, systems design, and applied technology typically meet the specialty occupation standard that E-3 requires. Candidates with a directly related bachelor's degree or higher and a qualifying job offer are the strongest fits.
Which roles at PassiveLogic typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at PassiveLogic is most common for technical positions in engineering, software development, and research. These roles generally require a specific degree field, which satisfies the specialty occupation definition under E-3. Generalist or operational roles with no defined degree requirement are less likely to qualify and may need additional documentation.
How do I start the E-3 application process at PassiveLogic?
After PassiveLogic extends a written job offer, the company files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. Once that's certified, you complete the DS-160 visa application, pay the MRV fee, and schedule your consulate interview in Australia. USCIS is not involved in the E-3 consular path, which keeps the process faster than most employer-sponsored work visas.
How long does E-3 sponsorship take at PassiveLogic?
The LCA certification from DOL typically takes around seven business days. Consulate appointment availability then determines your overall timeline, which can range from a few weeks to longer depending on which Australian city you apply from. Most straightforward E-3 cases move from offer letter to visa stamp within four to six weeks.
How do I find and apply for E-3 jobs at PassiveLogic?
Migrate Mate lists PassiveLogic's open roles filtered for E-3 eligibility, so you can see which positions the company is actively hiring for under this visa type. When you're ready to file, Migrate Mate's E-3 service handles the documentation from offer letter through consulate preparation, with a dedicated expert assigned to your case.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at PassiveLogic?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
