Align your portfolio to Stantec's project sectors
Stantec Architecture works across infrastructure, healthcare, transit, and civic design. Tailor your portfolio to highlight projects in those sectors before applying. A resume showing relevant built-work in Stantec's active practice areas signals genuine fit to hiring managers screening E-3 candidates.
Verify your role qualifies as specialty occupation
USCIS requires E-3 roles to demand a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. For architecture and consulting positions at Stantec, confirm your job title maps to a specialty occupation using O*NET before your first interview, so you're not caught off guard during the offer stage.
Request LCA initiation before accepting an offer
Stantec's HR team must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before you can apply for the E-3. Ask during the offer stage whether the LCA process has started. DOL certification typically takes seven business days, so early initiation keeps your start date on track.
Benchmark your salary against prevailing wage early
The E-3 requires employers to pay the prevailing wage for your role and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your specific architecture or consulting job title before negotiations, so your offered salary satisfies DOL requirements without last-minute adjustments.
Use Migrate Mate to find and filter Stantec openings
Searching broadly wastes time on roles unlikely to lead to E-3 sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces jobs at employers with verified E-3 LCA filing history, letting you focus your application efforts on Stantec positions where sponsorship is an established part of the hiring process.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation in advance
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted for E-3 purposes, but consular officers occasionally request clarification. Have your academic transcripts and a credential evaluation letter ready before your consulate appointment so your application doesn't stall over a documentation gap Stantec's team didn't anticipate.
Stantec E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Stantec Architecture sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Stantec Architecture sponsors E-3 visas for qualified Australian professionals. Sponsorship is concentrated in technical roles within architecture, engineering, and design consulting. Because E-3 sponsorship requires employer-initiated steps including a Labor Condition Application through DOL, it's worth confirming sponsorship readiness directly with Stantec's HR team during the offer process.
Which roles at Stantec Architecture are most likely to qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Stantec Architecture is most common for roles that meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, including licensed architects, structural and civil engineers, urban designers, and project managers with technical credentials. Roles requiring a relevant bachelor's degree as a minimum entry condition are the strongest candidates for E-3 classification.
How does the E-3 application process work at Stantec Architecture?
Once Stantec extends an offer, HR files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. After certification, you take the LCA and supporting documents to a U.S. consulate in Australia for your visa interview. Stantec's involvement ends after the LCA is certified. You handle the consulate appointment and visa application directly without needing to file through USCIS.
How long does the E-3 sponsorship process take at Stantec Architecture?
DOL typically certifies the LCA within seven business days of submission. After that, your consulate appointment wait time depends on the location and season, ranging from a few days to several weeks at Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth. Plan for two to six weeks from offer acceptance to visa in hand under normal conditions.
How do I find open E-3-eligible positions at Stantec Architecture?
Search Stantec's careers page directly and filter by discipline and U.S. location. For a more targeted approach, Migrate Mate lists positions at employers with verified E-3 LCA filing history, so you can identify Stantec roles where sponsorship is part of the hiring process rather than discovering that limitation after an offer is made.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Stantec Architecture?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
