Align your degree to the role
E-3 requires a specialty occupation, meaning your degree field must directly relate to the position. For stuut's technical roles, a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related discipline is what makes an application viable, not just any bachelor's degree.
Research stuut's LCA filings first
Before applying, verify that stuut has filed Labor Condition Applications for roles matching your target position. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check certified LCA data by employer and job title, so you know exactly which roles have active sponsorship history.
Use Migrate Mate to compare your offer
Once stuut extends an offer, run the role and salary through Migrate Mate to check prevailing wage compliance and flag any LCA gaps before the employer submits filings. Catching mismatches early prevents delays at the DOL certification stage.
Confirm E-3 eligibility before the offer stage
Raise your Australian citizenship and E-3 eligibility with the recruiter before any offer is drafted. Employers sometimes default to H-1B visa timelines or assume lottery exposure. Clarifying that E-3 has no cap and no lottery can reset their expectations and accelerate their internal approval process.
Map your job duties to O*NET codes
Review your target role against its O*NET occupation profile to confirm the standard degree requirement. If stuut's job posting uses vague language, matching your duties to a recognized O*NET code strengthens the specialty occupation argument in the LCA and at the consulate.
Prepare your credential documents before the interview
Gather your degree transcript, any credential evaluation for a non-U.S. qualification, and your job offer letter before booking your consulate appointment. Australian three-year degrees are generally accepted by USCIS and consular officers, but a credential evaluation removes any ambiguity at the window.
stuut E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does stuut sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, stuut has sponsored E-3 visas for Australian professionals in Technology & Software roles. Its E-3 program is targeted rather than broad, so sponsorship is most accessible for candidates whose degree and job duties clearly meet the specialty occupation standard. Confirming role eligibility before applying is the most important first step.
Which roles at stuut typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at stuut is most common in technical and software-focused positions where a specific degree field is required, such as software engineering, product, or data roles. Generalist or managerial positions without a defined degree requirement are less likely to qualify under the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies.
How do I start the E-3 application process at stuut?
After receiving a job offer, stuut files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL for certification, which typically takes around seven business days. You then complete the DS-160, pay the visa fee, and attend a consulate interview in Australia. Migrate Mate can manage the filing steps and flag any document gaps before you book your appointment.
How long does the E-3 sponsorship process take at stuut?
The employer-side LCA certification through DOL generally completes within one to two weeks. Consulate appointment availability in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth then determines the overall timeline, which can range from a few weeks to a couple of months depending on current wait times. Starting the process immediately after offer acceptance avoids unnecessary delays.
What can I do to strengthen my E-3 application at stuut?
Make sure your degree transcripts and any credential evaluations are ready before the LCA is filed. Review your job description against the relevant O*NET occupation profile to confirm the specialty occupation requirement is clearly met. Ask stuut's HR or immigration contact whether they work with an immigration attorney, and clarify whether the E-3 filing fee is covered by the company.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at stuut?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
