Align your degree to Typeface's technical roles
E-3 requires your degree field to directly match the role. Typeface hires heavily in AI, product, and software engineering, so a computer science, information systems, or related technical degree strengthens your specialty occupation case before you apply.
Research prevailing wages before salary discussions
Use the OFLC Wage Search to find the DOL wage level for your target role and location before any offer conversation. Typeface must meet prevailing wage requirements, and knowing the floor helps you evaluate whether an offer is compliant.
Confirm Typeface's LCA filing process early
The Labor Condition Application must be certified by DOL before your consulate appointment. Ask your Typeface recruiter or HR contact during the offer stage who handles LCA filing and what their typical turnaround is.
Use Migrate Mate to prepare your E-3 filing documents
Once you have an offer from Typeface, Migrate Mate can handle your E-3 filing paperwork at a flat fee. This is especially useful if Typeface's HR team is coordinating the LCA but expects you to manage the consulate application side.
Check your O*NET occupation profile before interviewing
Review the O*NET profile for your target role at Typeface to confirm it meets the specialty occupation definition. Interviewers at AI-focused companies sometimes ask about your credential background, and knowing your job zone strengthens your answers.
Request an E-3 acknowledgment during offer negotiation
Before signing, confirm in writing that Typeface will support your E-3 sponsorship, including LCA filing. Technology companies sometimes default to H-1B visa processes, and clarifying expectations at the offer stage prevents delays after you accept.
Typeface E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Typeface sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Typeface sponsors E-3 visas for Australian nationals in qualifying specialty occupation roles. Their hiring activity covers technology and software positions, including product, engineering, and AI-related functions. If your degree aligns with the role you're targeting, Typeface is a viable E-3 sponsor to pursue through a direct application.
Which roles at Typeface typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles in software engineering, product management, data science, and AI research are the most likely candidates for E-3 sponsorship at Typeface. These positions generally require a relevant technical degree, which satisfies the specialty occupation requirement. Generalist or operations roles without a direct degree requirement are less likely to qualify under E-3 rules.
How do I start the E-3 application process after receiving a Typeface offer?
After accepting an offer, Typeface's HR or legal team files the Labor Condition Application with DOL. Once it's certified, you use that document along with your offer letter to schedule and attend a consulate interview in Australia. USCIS is not involved in E-3 consular processing, which keeps the timeline shorter than most work visa categories.
How long does E-3 sponsorship take at a company like Typeface?
The LCA certification typically takes around seven business days from DOL. After that, your consulate appointment availability depends on the post you're using in Australia. Total time from offer to visa stamp can range from a few weeks to a couple of months depending on appointment wait times, which vary by location and season.
How do I find open E-3 roles at Typeface?
Migrate Mate lists roles at companies with verified E-3 filing history, including Typeface, so you can filter specifically for E-3-eligible positions rather than guessing at sponsorship willingness. You can also apply directly through Typeface's careers page, but flagging your E-3 visa status early in the process helps avoid late-stage complications with HR.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Typeface?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
