Verify Your Credentials Match State Requirements
Ensign Services operates facilities across multiple states, each with its own RN licensure board. Before applying, confirm your NCLEX status and that your nursing credentials have been evaluated by a CGFNS-approved organization to meet the specific state's requirements where the role is posted.
Target Facilities With Active Hiring Pipelines
Ensign Services hires RNs at the individual facility level, not centrally. Search by specific facility location rather than the parent company name, as sponsorship decisions are often made at the facility or regional director level rather than corporate HR.
Ask Directly About EB-3 Sponsorship Timelines
Long-term care employers like Ensign Services frequently sponsor RNs through the EB-3 immigrant visa pathway, which involves PERM labor certification through the DOL before USCIS petition filing. Ask the hiring contact upfront whether the facility has an established PERM process or is initiating one for your role.
Clarify TN Status Eligibility If You Hold Canadian Citizenship
Registered Nursing is an explicitly listed profession under TN visa rules for Canadian citizens, with no cap and no lottery. If you qualify, TN status can be arranged at the border or port of entry, making it a faster path than H-1B while you wait for immigrant visa priority dates.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open RN Roles by Sponsorship Type
Ensign Services posts RN openings across dozens of facilities simultaneously, and not every listing specifies which visa types the facility will support. Use Migrate Mate to filter Ensign Services RN roles by the specific visa pathway you need, saving time spent on roles that won't match your status.
Time Your Application Around Your OPT or Grace Period
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 12-month authorization window limits how long you can remain employed before H-1B filing is necessary. Confirm with the hiring facility whether they can file an H-1B cap-subject petition in time for the April USCIS registration window to avoid a gap in work authorization.

Does Ensign Services sponsor H-1B visas for Registered Nurses?
Yes, Ensign Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Registered Nurses. Because H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, timing matters significantly. Facilities typically need to begin the process well before the April USCIS registration window. Confirm with your specific facility contact whether they plan to participate in the upcoming registration cycle before accepting an offer contingent on H-1B approval.
How do I apply for Registered Nurse jobs at Ensign Services?
Ensign Services posts Registered Nurse openings at the individual facility level. You can browse current RN roles filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which aggregates Ensign Services listings alongside sponsorship details. When applying, address your visa status and any active work authorization directly in your application, as sponsorship decisions are made at the facility or regional director level.
Which visa types are commonly used for Registered Nurse roles at Ensign Services?
Registered Nurses at Ensign Services have been sponsored under H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. The EB-3 route is particularly common in long-term care settings because Registered Nursing qualifies as a skilled worker occupation. TN is available to Canadian citizens without a cap or lottery, making it a practical near-term option.
What qualifications does Ensign Services expect for sponsored Registered Nurse roles?
At minimum, you'll need an active RN license in the state where the facility operates, NCLEX passage, and a qualifying nursing degree. For internationally trained nurses, a credential evaluation from a CGFNS-approved body is standard. Long-term care and skilled nursing facility experience is valued highly, as Ensign Services facilities focus on post-acute and rehabilitative care rather than acute hospital settings.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Registered Nurse at Ensign Services?
Timeline depends on the visa pathway. H-1B sponsorship tied to the annual lottery means you could wait up to a year if registration falls in April and employment starts October 1. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM involves DOL labor certification, USCIS petition filing, and priority date waiting periods that can extend several years. TN for Canadian citizens can be processed in days at a port of entry.
