Target corporate roles, not store-level positions
EXPRESS sponsorship activity is concentrated in corporate functions like merchandising, planning, finance, and technology rather than in-store retail roles. Focus your search on headquarters-based positions to find the opportunities most likely to come with visa support.
Understand that EXPRESS sponsors Green Cards, not H-1Bs
EXPRESS has sponsored Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways rather than H-1B petitions. If you're early in your U.S. career and need near-term work authorization, make sure you have an independent status like OPT before targeting EXPRESS.
Leverage F-1 OPT and CPT as your entry point
EXPRESS participates in F-1 OPT and CPT hiring, which is a practical foot in the door. Landing a role on OPT lets you build tenure and demonstrate value, which strengthens your case if Green Card sponsorship becomes relevant down the line.
Highlight retail industry knowledge in your application
EXPRESS operates in a competitive specialty retail environment. Candidates who can speak to merchandising cycles, consumer trends, or omnichannel retail operations stand out. Connecting your background to the retail context makes sponsorship conversations easier to initiate.
Research open roles with confirmed sponsorship history
Not every EXPRESS posting will result in sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus on roles where EXPRESS has a demonstrated track record rather than guessing from job descriptions alone.
Bring up visa needs early with recruiters
EXPRESS is a mid-sized retailer with a selective sponsorship approach. Raising your visa situation early in recruiter conversations avoids wasted time and signals transparency. Corporate recruiters at EXPRESS are more accustomed to these conversations than typical retail hiring managers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does EXPRESS sponsor H-1B visas?
Based on available sponsorship data, EXPRESS does not have a history of sponsoring H-1B visas. Their sponsorship activity is focused on Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3 categories. If you need H-1B sponsorship specifically, EXPRESS is unlikely to be the right fit. Candidates with independent work authorization like F-1 OPT are better positioned to pursue roles there.
What visa types does EXPRESS sponsor?
EXPRESS sponsors Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing degree programs. This means EXPRESS is a stronger option for candidates seeking long-term permanent residence pathways or those currently on student work authorization, rather than those requiring nonimmigrant work visas like H-1B.
Which departments or roles at EXPRESS are most likely to lead to visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at EXPRESS is most associated with corporate functions rather than in-store retail positions. Roles in merchandising, product development, finance, supply chain, and information technology at the company's headquarters level are the most realistic targets. Store associate and management roles at the retail level are generally not sponsorship-eligible at EXPRESS.
How do I find EXPRESS job openings that are open to visa sponsorship?
The most reliable approach is to filter for EXPRESS on Migrate Mate, which aggregates job postings from verified visa sponsors and cross-references real sponsorship filings. This lets you see which roles align with EXPRESS's actual sponsorship patterns rather than relying solely on job descriptions, which rarely state sponsorship eligibility explicitly.
How do I approach the application process at EXPRESS as an international candidate?
Start by targeting corporate roles where EXPRESS has historically sponsored, and be upfront about your visa status during the initial recruiter screen. If you're on F-1 OPT, emphasize the authorization period you have available and your long-term interest in the company. For Green Card pathways, understand that the process typically begins after you've established yourself in a role, so demonstrating strong performance and retention potential matters from day one.
