Align your credentials with ratings methodology
Fitch evaluates associates on financial modeling and credit analysis skills, not just investment banking deal experience. Before applying, ensure your resume reflects exposure to debt markets, issuer analysis, or structured finance products relevant to a ratings context.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
Fitch posts Investment Banking Associate roles across multiple locations with varying sponsorship availability. Use Migrate Mate to search and filter positions by the visa types Fitch actively sponsors, so you're applying to roles where your status is already supported.
Ask recruiters directly about LCA wage levels
Fitch must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before sponsoring an H-1B, certifying the offered wage meets prevailing levels for the role and location. Asking about wage level early signals you understand the process and helps you evaluate whether the offer is competitively structured.
Plan around H-1B cap deadlines if lottery dependent
If H-1B is your only route and you're not cap-exempt, USCIS registration opens each March for an October 1 start. Structure your Fitch offer timeline so your start date aligns with the cap year, and confirm your employer is prepared to file in April.

Does Fitch Ratings sponsor H-1B visas for Investment Banking Associates?
Yes, Fitch Ratings sponsors H-1B visas for Investment Banking Associates. The role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, your offer timing will need to account for the annual USCIS registration period, which opens each March for an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Investment Banking Associate jobs at Fitch Ratings?
Applications go through Fitch Ratings' careers portal directly. You can also browse open Investment Banking Associate roles that include visa sponsorship by searching Migrate Mate, which filters positions by the visa types Fitch actively supports. Tailor your application to reflect credit analysis skills and familiarity with ratings methodology, as Fitch prioritizes candidates with debt markets or structured finance exposure.
Which visa types does Fitch Ratings commonly use for Investment Banking Associates?
Fitch Ratings sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Cards for this role. Australian citizens are strong candidates for the E-3, which has no lottery and allows two-year renewable periods. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status. F-1 students entering through CPT or OPT are also a common path for this role.
What qualifications does Fitch Ratings expect for Investment Banking Associates?
Fitch typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a quantitative discipline. Associate roles emphasize financial modeling, credit analysis, and familiarity with fixed income or capital markets. Prior internship experience in investment banking, asset management, or credit research strengthens your application significantly, particularly if you can demonstrate exposure to issuer or sector analysis.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Fitch Ratings offer?
Timeline depends heavily on your visa type. H-1B sponsorship follows USCIS processing timelines, typically several months from filing, with premium processing available for faster adjudication. E-3 and TN visas can often be obtained through consular processing in a matter of weeks. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship for EB-2 or EB-3 categories involves a multi-year process through DOL and USCIS, so start those conversations early if permanent residency is your goal.
