Translate PMP credentials into U.S. engineering context
Freese and Nichols values project managers with credentials like PMP or PE licensure tied to civil infrastructure. Before applying, align your credential documentation to U.S. equivalency standards so hiring managers can quickly assess your fit for client-facing delivery roles.
Target project management openings tied to public sector work
Freese and Nichols primarily serves municipal, state, and federal clients. Senior PM roles supporting water, transportation, or environmental programs are where the firm hires most actively, so tailor your resume to show experience managing publicly funded infrastructure projects.
Ask about sponsorship intent before the offer stage
Consulting firms can pull back on sponsorship late in the process if the business case isn't clearly established. Raise your visa situation during the second-round interview, framing it as a logistics question rather than a red flag, so there are no surprises at offer.
Understand how H-1B timing affects your start date
If you're not already in H-1B status, USCIS cap-subject petitions have an October 1 start date. Discuss this window with your Freese and Nichols recruiter early so they can plan project staffing around your authorization timeline and avoid rescinding an offer over delays.
Verify your OPT STEM extension eligibility before applying
F-1 candidates on standard OPT have a limited runway. If your degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related STEM field qualifies for a 24-month extension, confirm that before your first interview so you can offer Freese and Nichols a longer bridging window before H-1B sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to find current Senior Project Management openings
Senior PM roles at Freese and Nichols turn over irregularly across regional offices. Use Migrate Mate to filter open positions by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're targeting active postings where sponsorship is already on the table, not roles where it's uncertain.

Find Senior Project Management at Freese and Nichols JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Freese and Nichols sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Project Managements?
Yes, Freese and Nichols has sponsored H-1B visas for professional roles including Senior Project Management positions. Sponsorship is evaluated case by case, so your strongest path is demonstrating that your background directly matches an active project need. Raising the conversation early in the interview process gives both sides time to plan around USCIS filing and cap timelines.
How do I apply for Senior Project Management jobs at Freese and Nichols?
Applications go through the Freese and Nichols careers portal, where openings are listed by service area and location. You can also browse current Senior Project Management positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify roles where sponsorship is already a realistic outcome before you invest time in the application.
Which visa types does Freese and Nichols commonly use for Senior Project Management roles?
The most common pathways for Senior Project Management candidates at Freese and Nichols are the H-1B, F-1 OPT (including the STEM extension for qualifying degrees), TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals working in engineering or management fields, and J-1 for candidates in qualifying exchange programs. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree, and current status.
What qualifications does Freese and Nichols expect for Senior Project Management positions?
Freese and Nichols typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering, construction management, or a closely related discipline, combined with substantial experience managing infrastructure or public sector projects. PMP certification and professional engineering licensure are common differentiators. Senior-level roles generally require demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing client relationships on complex, publicly funded programs.
How do I time my application if I'm currently on OPT or waiting for an H-1B lottery result?
If you're on OPT, apply as early as possible so Freese and Nichols has time to evaluate you before your authorization expires. H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April for an October 1 start date. Candidates who don't clear the lottery may need to explore TN or consider reapplying the following cycle. Confirm your current authorization window with your DSO or immigration counsel before accepting an offer timeline.
