Target technical and engineering roles first
Freese and Nichols sponsorship activity centers on technical disciplines within its consulting practice. Civil, environmental, and infrastructure engineering roles are your strongest entry points if you need H-1B or OPT support from this firm.
Engage early if you're on F-1 OPT
Freese and Nichols sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, making it accessible during your student work authorization window. Reach out to recruiters before your OPT clock runs down to allow enough lead time for any H-1B transition planning.
Understand the consulting firm hiring cycle
Consulting and professional services firms like Freese and Nichols typically hire against project pipelines. Timing your application to align with large infrastructure project announcements can improve your chances of landing a sponsored role.
Highlight project-specific technical skills in your application
Freese and Nichols works across water, transportation, and municipal infrastructure. Tailoring your resume to reflect direct experience in these service areas signals immediate project value, which matters to consulting firms evaluating whether to invest in sponsorship.
Confirm TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Freese and Nichols sponsors TN visas, which carry no lottery risk and can be processed faster than H-1B. If you qualify, it's worth raising TN as the preferred sponsorship path when discussing your situation with the hiring team.
Use Migrate Mate to find open roles at verified sponsors
Browsing generalist job boards makes it hard to confirm real sponsorship intent. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by actual sponsorship history and focus your search on firms like Freese and Nichols that have a confirmed track record.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Freese and Nichols sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Freese and Nichols sponsors H-1B visas. The firm has an established pattern of sponsoring international professionals in technical consulting roles. Sponsorship is typically tied to specialty occupation positions in engineering and related disciplines. If you're targeting the firm, focus your application on roles where a relevant technical degree is a clear requirement for the job.
Which visa types does Freese and Nichols sponsor?
Freese and Nichols sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, and J-1 visas. This range makes the firm accessible to a broad group of international job seekers, from students on OPT to professionals seeking long-term work authorization. TN visa sponsorship is particularly relevant for qualified Canadian and Mexican citizens, given the faster and more predictable process compared to H-1B.
What types of roles at Freese and Nichols are most likely to be sponsored?
Sponsorship at Freese and Nichols is concentrated in technical and engineering positions that align with the firm's core consulting services, including water resources, transportation, and municipal infrastructure projects. Roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific engineering or technical field are the strongest candidates for H-1B sponsorship, as they clearly meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS uses to evaluate petitions.
How do I find open sponsored jobs at Freese and Nichols?
The most reliable approach is to search for Freese and Nichols on Migrate Mate, which filters job listings by verified sponsorship history so you're not guessing whether a firm will actually support your visa. From there, filter by the visa type you need and focus on technical roles in the firm's core consulting practice areas, where sponsorship is most commonly offered.
How do I time my application to Freese and Nichols for H-1B sponsorship?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, the critical deadline is USCIS's annual registration window, which typically opens in early March for an October 1 start date. You'll need to have an offer and your employer must register you before that window closes. Aim to have interviews and offer negotiations completed by January or February to give HR sufficient lead time to prepare the filing.
