Align your credentials with PE licensure expectations
Freese and Nichols PM roles in engineering consulting frequently expect or reward Professional Engineer licensure. If you're on OPT or TN status, confirm your foreign credentials are evaluated through a NCEES-recognized body before your interview.
Target project areas matching their core sectors
Freese and Nichols concentrates on water, transportation, and municipal infrastructure. Tailoring your resume to show PM experience in those verticals signals fit immediately and reduces the internal debate about whether sponsorship is worth initiating.
Time your H-1B cap filing around their project calendar
Consulting firms plan project staffing well ahead of fiscal deadlines. Securing an offer by February gives your employer enough runway to file in the April H-1B registration window, with an October 1 start date aligned to new project cycles.

Does Freese and Nichols sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
Yes, Freese and Nichols has sponsored H-1B visas for Project Manager roles. As an engineering and infrastructure consulting firm, they have established HR processes for work authorization. Sponsorship is more common for technical PM roles tied to engineering disciplines. Confirming sponsorship willingness early in the interview process is advisable, since final decisions depend on the specific role and business need at the time of hire.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at Freese and Nichols?
Applications go through the Freese and Nichols careers portal on their website. Before applying, review which office location the role is based in, since project focus and team structure vary significantly by region. Migrate Mate aggregates open Project Manager positions at Freese and Nichols and lets you filter by visa sponsorship, making it easier to identify the right openings before heading to their portal to submit.
Which visa types does Freese and Nichols commonly use for Project Manager hires?
Freese and Nichols has sponsored H-1B visas and supported F-1 OPT and CPT candidates for Project Manager roles. TN status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose PM role qualifies under the Engineer or other eligible USMCA categories. J-1 sponsorship is less common for full-time PM positions but may appear in internship or training contexts within their consulting practice.
What qualifications does Freese and Nichols expect for Project Manager roles?
Most Project Manager positions at Freese and Nichols require a bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or a related engineering field, along with direct project delivery experience in infrastructure or municipal consulting. Professional Engineer licensure is frequently preferred or required for client-facing PM roles. For H-1B purposes, your degree field needs to directly correspond to the job's specialty occupation duties, so an engineering or technical management background is essential.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship to join Freese and Nichols?
If you're pursuing H-1B sponsorship, plan to have an offer finalized by late winter so your employer can file during the April USCIS registration window, with a work start date no earlier than October 1. F-1 OPT candidates should verify their OPT authorization dates align with the intended start date and factor in STEM OPT extension eligibility if the role qualifies. TN status can be obtained at a port of entry or by consular application, which moves considerably faster than the H-1B cycle.
