Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Lead Software Engineer Jobs at Garver Jobs
Align your credentials to Garver's engineering stack
Garver's consulting projects demand systems-level engineering experience, not just general software development. Before applying, document specific project leadership examples that map to infrastructure, data, or enterprise software work common in professional services environments.
Target open roles that match your OPT timeline
F-1 OPT authorization runs 12 months, with a 24-month STEM extension if your degree qualifies. Apply to Lead Software Engineer openings early enough that your OPT start date gives Garver enough runway to evaluate you before a cap-subject H-1B petition becomes necessary.
Ask about Garver's sponsorship policy during the offer stage
Consulting firms sometimes apply internal policies on which roles or seniority levels receive sponsorship support. Confirm directly with the recruiter whether Lead Software Engineer positions at Garver are pre-approved for H-1B filing before you reach the offer negotiation stage.
Prepare your immigration documents before the LCA is filed
Your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS ever sees your H-1B petition. Have your degree transcripts, employment verification letters, and professional licenses ready so Garver's legal team can move quickly once a prevailing wage determination is needed.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Lead Software Engineer openings by sponsorship type
Not every open role at a sponsoring company is approved for every visa category. Use Migrate Mate to browse Lead Software Engineer listings at Garver filtered by the visa type you need, so you're applying to roles that already match your situation.
Understand how TN status affects your long-term career path
Canadian and Mexican nationals can enter on TN status without lottery risk, but TN is nonimmigrant intent, which complicates later Green Card pursuit through PERM. If permanent residency is your goal, discuss EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship timelines with Garver's HR team before accepting a TN-based offer.

Find Lead Software Engineer at Garver JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Garver sponsor H-1B visas for Lead Software Engineers?
Yes. Garver has an active history of sponsoring H-1B visas across technical roles, including at the Lead Software Engineer level. Because H-1B cap-subject filings require USCIS lottery selection in April for an October start, you'll want to confirm sponsorship eligibility early in the hiring process so your timeline aligns with the annual registration window.
How do I apply for Lead Software Engineer jobs at Garver?
Applications go through Garver's careers portal. Before applying, confirm the role explicitly supports sponsorship for your visa category, since not every open position within a sponsoring company is cleared for every visa type. Migrate Mate lets you browse Lead Software Engineer openings at Garver filtered by visa category, so you can focus on roles that fit your situation before submitting an application.
Which visa types does Garver commonly use for Lead Software Engineers?
Garver sponsors across several categories, including H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3. For Lead Software Engineers, H-1B is the most common long-term path. Canadian and Mexican nationals may enter on TN status, which avoids the lottery but carries nonimmigrant intent considerations if you plan to pursue permanent residency later.
What qualifications does Garver expect for Lead Software Engineer roles?
Lead Software Engineer positions at Garver typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, along with meaningful experience leading engineering teams or complex technical projects. Given Garver's consulting and infrastructure focus, experience with enterprise-grade systems, project delivery in professional services environments, and cross-functional stakeholder management tends to strengthen your application significantly.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship at Garver?
The timeline depends on your current status. If you're on F-1 OPT, you have up to 12 months of work authorization, with a 24-month STEM extension available for qualifying degrees. Garver would need to file an H-1B petition during the April registration window for an October 1 start. For EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, PERM labor certification alone can take six to twelve months before USCIS sees the petition.
