Align your credentials with consulting BD norms
Geosyntec's BD roles typically require a technical degree in environmental science, civil engineering, or a related field alongside client-facing experience. Confirm your credentials map to a specialty occupation before outreach, since USCIS scrutinizes non-technical BD titles at consulting firms.
Target Geosyntec's sector-specific BD openings
Geosyntec staffs BD roles across practice areas like remediation, water resources, and infrastructure. Applying to openings tied to a practice area where your technical background fits strengthens your specialty occupation argument and signals genuine fit to hiring managers.
Browse open BD roles using Migrate Mate
Geosyntec posts Business Development positions across multiple locations and practice groups, so listings move quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship-eligible openings at Geosyntec before roles close.
Understand how PERM affects BD green card timelines
BD roles at consulting firms are rarely listed on DOL's Schedule A, so EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship requires a full PERM labor market test. Factor in 18 to 36 months for DOL processing when evaluating long-term immigration timelines with your prospective employer.
Negotiate a written sponsorship commitment in the offer
Consulting firms sometimes sponsor case by case rather than by policy. Before accepting, confirm in writing that Geosyntec will cover H-1B filing fees and engage outside counsel, since verbal assurances carry no weight once you've started the onboarding process.

Does Geosyntec Consultants sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Geosyntec Consultants sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Business Development roles. Because BD positions at consulting firms must meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, your application is strongest when the role requires a specific technical degree in a field like environmental engineering, geology, or a related discipline rather than a general business background.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Geosyntec Consultants?
Applications go through Geosyntec's careers portal, where BD roles are listed by practice area and office location. You can also find verified sponsorship-eligible openings at Geosyntec on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type so you're not wasting time on positions that won't support your immigration status.
Which visa types does Geosyntec Consultants commonly use for Business Development roles?
Geosyntec sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for qualifying candidates. TN is an efficient option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in technical BD roles. F-1 OPT or CPT can cover early-career positions while H-1B or Green Card sponsorship is arranged.
What qualifications does Geosyntec Consultants expect for Business Development roles?
Geosyntec's BD professionals typically hold a bachelor's or advanced degree in an environmental, engineering, or geoscience discipline alongside experience selling technical consulting services to government agencies, utilities, or industrial clients. Demonstrated success managing client accounts and proposal development in the environmental or infrastructure consulting sector is a consistent expectation across their BD postings.
How do I plan my immigration timeline when pursuing a Business Development role at Geosyntec?
The H-1B cap registration window opens in March, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest. If your OPT expires before October, ask Geosyntec whether a cap-exempt filing is available through an affiliated university or nonprofit. For Green Card sponsorship via EB-2 or EB-3, expect the PERM labor certification process alone to take 18 to 36 months through DOL.
