Frame your credentials for specialty occupation review
Engineering Project Manager roles at GHD typically require a degree in civil, environmental, or a closely related engineering discipline. Make sure your credentials evaluation matches the specific field your target role falls under, not just engineering broadly.
Target GHD's infrastructure and environmental divisions
GHD's U.S. project pipeline is heavily weighted toward water, transportation, and environmental work. Positioning your experience around those sectors, rather than general project management, makes you a stronger candidate for the roles most likely to move through sponsorship.
Clarify sponsorship intent before the offer stage
Consulting firms like GHD often route sponsorship decisions through HR and legal teams separately from the hiring manager. Ask directly during the final interview round which visa types the team has filed for this role, so you're not surprised after an offer is extended.
Understand the PERM timeline for EB-2 and EB-3 paths
GHD sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for engineering roles, but PERM labor certification typically adds 12 to 24 months before an I-140 can be filed. Factor that into your planning if you're also managing H-1B status expiration or OPT end dates.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open GHD roles by visa type
GHD posts Engineering Project Manager openings across multiple U.S. regions at different times of year. Search Migrate Mate to filter active GHD roles by the visa types they sponsor, so you're only applying to positions that match your work authorization needs.
Align your TN eligibility if you hold a Canadian or Mexican engineering degree
GHD sponsors TN visas for qualifying candidates, and engineers are explicitly listed as a TN-eligible profession. Confirm your specific degree title and discipline map cleanly to the DOL's TN engineer category before citing TN as your sponsorship preference in interviews.

Find Engineering Project Manager at GHD JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GHD sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Project Managers?
GHD has sponsored work visas for Engineering Project Manager roles, though the H-1B is subject to the annual USCIS lottery, which runs each April for an October 1 start date. If you're already in H-1B status through another employer, a transfer to GHD avoids the lottery entirely. GHD also sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, TN, and J-1 authorizations for qualifying candidates.
How do I apply for Engineering Project Manager jobs at GHD?
GHD posts openings directly on its careers site and through job boards, but roles are spread across regions and close quickly. The most efficient approach is to use Migrate Mate, which aggregates GHD's Engineering Project Manager openings and filters them by visa sponsorship type, so you can identify the roles that match your work authorization before applying.
Which visa types does GHD commonly use for Engineering Project Manager roles?
GHD sponsors a range of visa types for engineering roles, including F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying engineering degrees, J-1 for exchange visitors, and employer-sponsored Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term hires. The right path depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in your career.
What qualifications does GHD expect for Engineering Project Manager positions?
GHD's Engineering Project Manager roles generally require a bachelor's degree or higher in civil, environmental, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline, along with meaningful project delivery experience in consulting or infrastructure sectors. A Professional Engineer license strengthens your candidacy, particularly for roles involving client-facing deliverables or U.S. regulatory compliance, which are common in GHD's water and environmental practice areas.
How long does the visa sponsorship process typically take at a firm like GHD?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. TN and H-1B transfers can move in a matter of weeks. A new H-1B cap-subject petition requires winning the April lottery and waiting until October 1 for work authorization. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically takes two to four years from filing to approval, not counting visa backlog wait times for nationals of high-demand countries.
