Frame your partnerships experience around product ecosystems
Google evaluates Partnerships Leads on their ability to grow revenue through platform and ecosystem relationships, not just account management. Lead your resume and interviews with examples of co-sell programs, API integrations, or developer channel work.
Target roles attached to Google's product lines
Partnerships Lead openings at Google are often scoped to specific products like Google Cloud, YouTube, or Android. Filtering by product area when applying increases your relevance to a hiring team and signals you've done the groundwork before outreach.
Understand which visa category fits your nationality
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for this role. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 directly without a lottery. Singaporean and Chilean nationals may qualify for the H-1B1. Knowing which pathway applies before your offer conversation prevents delays.
Align your degree field to the job description
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations. For Partnerships Leads, a degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related field tied specifically to Google's product scope strengthens the petition far more than a broadly worded qualification.
Negotiate your start date with the H-1B timeline in mind
If you need H-1B sponsorship, the cap lottery runs in March for an October 1 start date. Google can file for premium processing to get a 15-business-day USCIS decision, but the October cap-subject start date is fixed. Build that into your offer negotiation.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Partnerships Lead roles at Google
Search Migrate Mate to filter Partnerships Lead positions at Google by visa type, so you're only reviewing roles where your sponsorship pathway is already confirmed. Apply directly from the listing once you've identified the right product area or team.

Find Partnerships Lead at Google JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Partnerships Leads?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Partnerships Lead roles. Google is a well-established H-1B sponsor and uses premium processing to accelerate USCIS decisions for sponsored hires. If you require H-1B sponsorship and are subject to the annual cap, the earliest you can start in this status is October 1 of the cap year you're selected in.
How do I apply for Partnerships Lead jobs at Google?
Applications go through Google's careers portal, where Partnerships Lead roles are posted by product area, region, and seniority level. Tailoring your application to a specific Google product or business unit improves relevance. You can also browse current openings filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate to confirm sponsorship availability before applying.
Which visa types does Google commonly use for Partnerships Lead roles?
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Partnerships Leads. The H-1B is available to most nationalities but requires lottery selection for cap-subject candidates. The H-1B1 applies to Singaporean and Chilean nationals and isn't subject to the general lottery. The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and also bypasses the H-1B lottery.
What qualifications does Google expect for Partnerships Lead roles?
Google typically looks for candidates with experience managing strategic alliances, co-sell relationships, or ecosystem partnerships within the technology industry. Roles scoped to Google Cloud or platform products often expect familiarity with SaaS go-to-market models or developer ecosystems. A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a closely related field is standard, and H-1B sponsorship depends on the role qualifying as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines.
How do I handle the sponsorship conversation during the Google interview process?
Google's recruiting team handles visa sponsorship logistics after an offer is extended, not during early interview stages. You don't need to raise it in screening rounds. Once you're at the offer stage, confirm the specific visa type Google will file and whether premium processing is included. If you're cap-subject for H-1B, clarify your start date options given the October 1 window.
