Job Roles at Amazon
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Amazon Green Card Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target roles with high sponsorship demand
Software engineering, machine learning, and cloud infrastructure positions at Amazon are most commonly associated with Green Card sponsorship. Focusing your search on these technical disciplines gives you the strongest starting point within the company.
Understand Amazon's internal sponsorship process
Amazon typically initiates the Green Card process after you've demonstrated strong performance over time. Asking your manager or HR business partner about sponsorship eligibility timelines early helps you plan rather than wait for it to come up organically.
Search for verified Amazon sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Not every Amazon job listing mentions visa sponsorship explicitly. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify open Amazon roles with confirmed Green Card sponsorship backing.
Know which Green Card category Amazon typically files under
Amazon most commonly sponsors employees under the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based categories. Understanding which category applies to your role and qualifications helps you set accurate timeline expectations and prepare supporting documentation early.
Build tenure before expecting a Green Card filing
Amazon generally expects employees to establish a track record before initiating Green Card sponsorship. Demonstrating consistent performance, taking on increasing responsibility, and building internal relationships all strengthen your case for sponsorship consideration.

Does Amazon sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Amazon sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees, primarily in technical and engineering roles. Sponsorship is not automatic, it is typically initiated by Amazon after an employee has been in a nonimmigrant status role and demonstrated strong performance. The process is employer-driven, so Amazon must agree to file on your behalf.
Which roles and departments at Amazon are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Technical roles in software engineering, machine learning, cloud computing, and data science are the most common candidates for Green Card sponsorship at Amazon. Corporate functions in finance, product management, and operations may also qualify, but engineering and technology positions represent the majority of Amazon's employment-based Green Card filings.
How do I start the Green Card application process at Amazon?
The process begins with Amazon's internal approval, not your own application. Once Amazon agrees to sponsor you, they engage an immigration attorney who handles PERM labor certification with the Department of Labor, followed by filing an immigrant petition with USCIS. Your role is to provide documentation about your qualifications and work history throughout the process.
How long does the Green Card process take at Amazon?
Timeline depends heavily on your country of birth and the Green Card category Amazon files under. For EB-2 and EB-3, applicants born in India or China often face multi-year backlogs due to per-country visa limits, while applicants from other countries may wait one to three years. Starting the process as early as possible significantly reduces long-term uncertainty.
How do I find Amazon jobs that include Green Card sponsorship?
Amazon posts thousands of roles, but not all include Green Card sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters job listings by verified sponsorship history, so you can focus specifically on Amazon positions where Green Card sponsorship is a realistic outcome rather than guessing from vague job description language about 'visa assistance.'
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Amazon?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
