OUR APPROACH TO FLEXIBLE WORK
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Target engineering and product roles first
Workday's core business is enterprise software, so software engineering, product management, and data roles are where sponsorship is most common. Prioritize these functions when applying and tailor your application to Workday's cloud platform focus.
Understand which visa types Workday supports
Workday sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT, making it accessible for students and early-career professionals. If you're on OPT, applying before your authorization expires gives you the best shot at an H-1B transition.
Leverage Workday's Green Card track record
Workday has a strong pattern of supporting employees through the Green Card process via EB-2 and EB-3 categories. When interviewing, it's reasonable to ask about their permanent residence sponsorship process for long-term planning.
Apply to roles aligned with Workday's product areas
Workday's hiring centers on HCM, financial management, and cloud infrastructure. Candidates whose backgrounds align with these product verticals are more likely to land roles that receive sponsorship, so highlight relevant domain experience clearly in your resume.
Time your application around Workday's hiring cycles
As an active H-1B sponsor, Workday typically recruits ahead of the April lottery window. Apply in the preceding months so hiring managers have time to evaluate you before sponsorship decisions need to be made. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history.
Highlight enterprise software experience in your application
Workday competes for specialized talent in ERP, HCM, and cloud computing. Demonstrating hands-on experience with enterprise platforms strengthens your case as a high-value candidate worth sponsoring, which matters to any technology company evaluating sponsorship costs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Workday sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Workday sponsors H-1B visas and has done so consistently across multiple hiring cycles. Sponsorship is most common in technical roles such as software engineering, data engineering, and product development. Workday is considered an active H-1B sponsor in the enterprise technology sector, making it a realistic target for international candidates in those fields.
Which visa types does Workday sponsor?
Workday sponsors H-1B visas for specialty occupation workers, Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based categories, and work authorization for F-1 students on OPT and CPT. TN visas are also supported for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals. This range of visa types makes Workday accessible to candidates at different stages of their immigration journey.
Which departments or roles at Workday are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Workday is concentrated in technical and product-focused roles, particularly software engineering, machine learning, data science, and cloud infrastructure. Workday's core product areas, including HCM and financial management software, drive significant demand for specialized talent that the domestic market alone cannot fill, which is where most sponsored positions are found.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored by Workday?
Focus your application on roles directly tied to Workday's core products, such as cloud platform development, enterprise application engineering, or data analytics. Workday recruits ahead of the H-1B lottery, so applying several months before April increases your chances. Use Migrate Mate to find open positions at verified sponsors like Workday and filter by the visa types you need.
How do I know if a specific Workday role includes visa sponsorship?
Not every role at Workday includes sponsorship, and availability can differ by team or seniority level. The most reliable approach is to ask directly during the recruiter screen, since sponsorship decisions are made at the hiring manager level. Workday's overall track record as an active sponsor signals institutional willingness, but confirming sponsorship for your specific role early avoids wasted effort.
