Target engineering and technical roles
AMETEK's Green Card sponsorships are concentrated in engineering disciplines, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering roles tied to its instrumentation and electronic components business are the most likely pathways to permanent residency consideration.
Express long-term commitment early
AMETEK invests in Green Card sponsorship for employees it sees as long-term contributors. During interviews, signal your intent to grow within the company rather than treating the role as a short-term step.
Understand the PERM labor certification process
Green Card sponsorship at AMETEK typically starts with PERM, where the company demonstrates no qualified U.S. workers are available for your role. Understanding this process helps you set realistic timeline expectations from the start.
Ask about sponsorship policy during the offer stage
Not every AMETEK role or business unit sponsors Green Cards. Asking directly during negotiations, not after signing, about whether your specific position qualifies for sponsorship saves time and avoids misaligned expectations.
Use verified sponsorship data when searching
Before applying, confirm AMETEK's sponsorship history is current. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you prioritize roles where Green Card support is likely rather than assumed.
Position yourself within AMETEK's core divisions
AMETEK operates highly specialized divisions in test and measurement, aerospace, and industrial electronics. Roles within these core business lines tend to require harder-to-find technical skill sets, which strengthens the case for Green Card sponsorship.
AMETEK Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does AMETEK sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, AMETEK sponsors Green Card visas for eligible employees. Sponsorship is most common for technical and engineering professionals in its electronics and instrumentation divisions. The process typically begins after an employee has demonstrated strong performance, and sponsorship is handled through the standard PERM labor certification route followed by an immigrant visa petition.
Which roles and departments at AMETEK are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at AMETEK is most concentrated in engineering, R&D, and highly specialized technical functions. Roles in electrical engineering, systems engineering, software development, and product development within its electronics and hardware divisions carry the strongest sponsorship precedent. Corporate functions like finance or HR are less commonly sponsored.
How do I start the Green Card process at AMETEK?
The process typically begins when AMETEK's HR or immigration team initiates PERM labor certification on your behalf. You'll work with a company-retained immigration attorney, provide documentation of your qualifications, and the employer will run required recruitment steps. You generally cannot initiate this process yourself, it requires employer action.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at AMETEK?
From PERM filing through final Green Card approval, the process typically spans several years. PERM certification alone can take a year or more depending on Department of Labor processing times. If your country of birth has a backlogged visa category, wait times extend further. Building a realistic multi-year timeline is essential before counting on permanent residency.
How do I find Green Card jobs at AMETEK that are open to sponsored candidates?
Start by identifying open roles in AMETEK's technical divisions where sponsorship is most common. Migrate Mate lists verified Green Card sponsors and filters roles by sponsorship history, so you can quickly confirm whether a specific AMETEK position has a realistic path to permanent residency support before you invest time in the application.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at AMETEK?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
