Align your credentials to EB-2 requirements
Bowman hires heavily in civil, environmental, and geotechnical engineering. If you hold an advanced degree or can document exceptional ability in one of these fields, you may qualify for EB-2, which bypasses the longer EB-3 PERM labor certification queue and can reduce your total Green Card timeline significantly.
Understand what PERM actually requires
Most Bowman Green Card filings go through PERM, a DOL-supervised recruitment process proving no qualified U.S. worker was available. Your role's job duties must match the PERM description exactly. Discrepancies between your day-to-day work and the certified position can trigger audits or denials down the line.
Target project-based teams with recurring sponsorship history
Bowman's infrastructure and environmental consulting divisions consistently generate roles requiring specialized technical credentials. Targeting these teams over general administrative or support functions improves your odds of landing a position where the hiring manager already understands the Green Card sponsorship process and timeline.
Request a sponsorship commitment before accepting an offer
Bowman's HR and legal teams handle immigration through defined internal workflows. Before signing, confirm in writing that your offer includes Green Card sponsorship, specifies the intended pathway (EB-2 or EB-3), and outlines when the PERM filing is expected to begin relative to your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to verify Bowman's filing history
Before your interview, use Migrate Mate to review Bowman Consulting's DOL Labor Condition Application filing history by role and location. This shows which job titles and office locations have active sponsorship patterns, so you can tailor your application to positions with a documented track record.
Benchmark your salary against prevailing wage levels
PERM requires Bowman to pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your occupation and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the Level I through Level IV wage tiers for your role. Walking into salary negotiations knowing the applicable prevailing wage gives you a grounded, defensible position.
Bowman Consulting Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Bowman Consulting sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Bowman Consulting sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees, primarily through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based preference categories. Sponsorship is most common for technical and professional roles in engineering, environmental consulting, and infrastructure services. Sponsorship is typically initiated after a defined period of employment and is subject to business need.
Which roles at Bowman Consulting are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Bowman is concentrated in technical disciplines where specialized credentials are required, particularly civil engineering, environmental science, geotechnical engineering, and project management. Roles in these practice areas are more likely to meet the specialty occupation and educational requirements that underpin EB-2 and EB-3 eligibility.
How do I start the Green Card process at Bowman Consulting?
The process typically begins with your direct manager and HR confirming sponsorship eligibility, followed by engagement with Bowman's immigration counsel. From there, the PERM labor certification is filed with DOL, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Each stage has distinct documentation requirements, so aligning early with your HR contact is essential.
How long does the Green Card process take at Bowman Consulting?
Timeline depends heavily on your country of birth and the pathway selected. The PERM labor certification alone can take six to twelve months, and USCIS adjudication of the I-140 adds additional time. For applicants born in countries with high demand, priority date backlogs published monthly in the USCIS Visa Bulletin can extend the total process by years.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Bowman Consulting?
Migrate Mate lists open roles at Bowman Consulting filtered by visa sponsorship type, including Green Card positions. Searching there lets you identify active openings in the practice areas most likely to support sponsorship. You can also cross-reference Bowman's direct careers page, but filtering by sponsorship eligibility is faster through a dedicated platform like Migrate Mate.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Bowman Consulting?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
