Target roles requiring specialized gaming expertise
Churchill Downs prioritizes Green Card sponsorship for positions where U.S. workers with matching qualifications are genuinely scarce. Focus your applications on technical roles in gaming systems, data analytics, and regulatory compliance, where your specialized background strengthens the PERM labor market test.
Understand which EB pathway fits your background
EB-3 covers most professional and skilled roles at Churchill Downs, while EB-2 applies if your position requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability. Confirm with the employer which category they intend to file under before accepting an offer, since each carries different PERM documentation requirements.
Verify your prevailing wage before salary negotiations
DOL sets a prevailing wage floor for every sponsored role, and Churchill Downs must meet it in the PERM filing. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your specific occupation and location before you negotiate, so your offered salary won't disqualify the petition later.
Build a credential file early in your job search
PERM requires detailed documentation of your qualifications matching the job requirements exactly. Gather your degree transcripts, professional licenses relevant to gaming or betting operations, and employment verification letters now, so Churchill Downs's immigration counsel can move quickly once an offer is extended.
Search Green Card sponsorship history on Migrate Mate
Before applying, pull Churchill Downs's Green Card filing history on Migrate Mate to see which job titles and departments have historically received sponsorship. That pattern tells you where to focus your application and which hiring teams are most likely to support a PERM petition.
Clarify the sponsorship commitment during the offer stage
Get explicit written confirmation that Churchill Downs will initiate the PERM process within an agreed timeframe after your start date. Gaming industry roles can involve rapid restructuring, so a documented sponsorship commitment protects you if team priorities shift before USCIS approves your I-140 petition.
Churchill Downs Inc. Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Churchill Downs Inc. sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Churchill Downs Inc. does sponsor Green Card visas. Sponsorship is selective and concentrated in professional, technical, and specialized roles across gaming operations, technology, and corporate functions. The company typically files through the PERM labor certification process, meaning sponsorship is tied to specific roles where qualified U.S. workers aren't readily available.
Which roles at Churchill Downs are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Churchill Downs tends to support roles in gaming technology, data engineering, software development, finance, and regulatory compliance. Corporate and shared-services positions requiring niche expertise in the betting and gaming sector also see sponsorship. Front-line gaming floor or hospitality roles are less commonly sponsored through the Green Card process.
How do I start the Green Card process at Churchill Downs Inc.?
The process begins with your employer filing a PERM labor certification with DOL, which tests whether qualified U.S. workers are available for your role. After PERM approval, Churchill Downs files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. You can search Churchill Downs's sponsorship history and find open roles on Migrate Mate to identify the right entry point.
How long does the Green Card process take when sponsored by Churchill Downs?
PERM labor certification alone takes several months under standard DOL processing, and the full Green Card process typically spans multiple years when accounting for I-140 adjudication and visa availability under your preference category. EB-3 applicants from high-demand countries may face longer waits due to priority date backlogs tracked in the USCIS Visa Bulletin.
How do I strengthen my Green Card application for a role at Churchill Downs?
Align your credentials precisely with the job requirements Churchill Downs lists, since PERM audits scrutinize whether the applicant matches the posted position. Document specialized gaming, betting, or technology qualifications thoroughly, verify the prevailing wage for your role using the OFLC Wage Search, and confirm sponsorship intent in writing before your start date to avoid delays later.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Churchill Downs Inc.?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
