Align your role to EB-2 requirements early
F5 hires heavily into software engineering and network security roles that typically meet EB-2 specialty occupation standards. Confirm your job duties require an advanced degree or equivalent before applying, so your credentials support the stronger pathway from day one.
Document your specialty occupation credentials now
PERM labor certification requires detailed proof that your role demands your specific degree field. Collect transcripts, professional evaluations, and employer letters before your petition starts. Gaps in documentation are the most common reason PERM cases stall at F5 and elsewhere.
Research F5's active Green Card job listings on Migrate Mate
Filter by Green Card sponsorship history to surface F5 roles where the employer has an established filing track record. Targeting teams with prior sponsorship activity reduces the risk of joining a group where Green Card support hasn't been tested.
Understand the PERM prevailing wage before negotiating
DOL requires F5 to pay you at or above the prevailing wage for your occupation and work location throughout the PERM process. Use the OFLC Wage Search to verify wage levels for your role in Seattle, San Jose, or wherever your F5 position is based.
Clarify sponsorship commitment during the offer stage
Ask your F5 recruiter directly whether the role includes Green Card sponsorship and which category the team typically files under. Companies in technology often reserve EB-2 for senior individual contributors and EB-3 for mid-level engineers, so knowing this shapes your five-year timeline.
Use O*NET to strengthen your specialty occupation case
F5 roles in application delivery, security, and multi-cloud networking map to O*NET occupation profiles that document degree requirements. Referencing the relevant O*NET profile in your petition helps USCIS confirm your job genuinely requires a specialized bachelor's degree or higher.
F5 Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does F5 sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, F5 sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. Sponsorship is concentrated in technical roles across software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity. The company files under both EB-2 and EB-3 categories depending on the role's requirements and the employee's credentials. Sponsorship is typically initiated after a candidate has established themselves in their position.
Which roles and departments at F5 typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at F5 is most common in software engineering, network security, cloud platform, and DevOps functions. Product and solutions engineering teams that support F5's application delivery and multi-cloud networking products have historically driven the majority of sponsorship activity. Research and data science roles occasionally appear as well.
How do I start the Green Card process at F5?
The process begins with your employer initiating PERM labor certification through DOL, which verifies no qualified U.S. worker is available for your role. F5 coordinates this through its immigration counsel. Your part is providing complete documentation of your education and work history. USCIS then adjudicates the I-140 immigrant petition once PERM is certified.
How long does the Green Card process take at F5?
Timeline depends heavily on your country of birth and the visa category. EB-2 and EB-3 applicants born in India or China face priority date backlogs that can extend the process by years beyond the initial filing. Applicants from most other countries typically reach the final adjustment of status stage within two to four years of PERM initiation.
How do I find open Green Card jobs at F5?
Migrate Mate lists F5 roles filtered by verified Green Card sponsorship history, so you can identify positions where the company has a documented track record of filing. Look for roles in F5's cloud security and application delivery divisions, which represent the company's core hiring areas and most active sponsorship pipeline.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at F5?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
