Target instructional and academic roles
Friendship Public Charter School's Green Card sponsorship tends to align with teaching, curriculum, and academic leadership positions. Focusing your application on roles with clear degree requirements in a relevant field strengthens your eligibility for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship.
Demonstrate long-term commitment to the mission
Charter schools sponsor Green Cards for candidates who signal staying power. In your application and interviews, emphasize your alignment with Friendship's educational mission and your interest in building a career there, not just filling a short-term vacancy.
Understand the PERM labor certification process
Most EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards require PERM, where the employer must document that no qualified U.S. worker is available. Knowing this process helps you frame your unique qualifications clearly and prepares you for the timeline involved.
Ask about sponsorship early in the hiring process
Education employers often have HR teams that handle sponsorship case by case. Raising the Green Card conversation respectfully during the offer stage, rather than after signing, gives both sides time to assess feasibility without surprises.
Verify sponsorship history before applying
Not every open role at a charter school comes with Green Card sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving you from applying to roles where sponsorship is unlikely to be offered.
Align your credentials with U.S. teaching standards
Friendship Public Charter School operates under D.C. public charter requirements. Ensuring your foreign degree and any teaching credentials are evaluated for U.S. equivalency strengthens your PERM case and reduces complications during the Green Card application process.
Friendship Public Charter School Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Friendship Public Charter School sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Friendship Public Charter School sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. It files petitions through the EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories, which are the standard pathways for professional and skilled worker roles in education. Sponsorship is typically offered to candidates in roles that meet specialty occupation or skilled worker criteria, rather than all open positions.
Which roles at Friendship Public Charter School are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Friendship Public Charter School is most commonly associated with instructional and academic roles, including classroom teachers, special education professionals, and curriculum specialists. These positions typically require a relevant bachelor's degree or higher, which supports eligibility under EB-2 or EB-3 categories. Administrative and support roles may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
What does the Green Card application process look like at Friendship Public Charter School?
For most roles, the process begins with PERM labor certification, where Friendship must demonstrate to the Department of Labor that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the position. Once PERM is approved, the school files an immigrant petition on your behalf. You then apply for adjustment of status if you're already in the U.S., or go through consular processing abroad. An immigration attorney typically manages the employer-side filings.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at Friendship Public Charter School?
The timeline depends on your country of birth and the visa category used. PERM labor certification alone can take six months to over a year. After that, EB-3 applicants from high-demand countries may face priority date backlogs that extend the wait significantly. EB-2 cases with a current priority date move faster. You should plan for a multi-year process in most scenarios.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Friendship Public Charter School?
Start by searching for open roles and confirming that the position comes with Green Card sponsorship before investing time in the application. Migrate Mate lists verified Green Card sponsors, including charter schools, so you can identify roles where sponsorship is part of the offer. Once you find a relevant opening, reach out to HR early to confirm sponsorship eligibility for your specific background.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Friendship Public Charter School?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
