Target technical and engineering roles
GHD's Green Card sponsorships concentrate in engineering disciplines, environmental consulting, and project management. Roles requiring specialized credentials, licensed engineers, or niche technical expertise are the strongest candidates for employer-sponsored Green Card support.
Demonstrate long-term project value
GHD sponsors Green Cards when retaining an employee is critical to ongoing project delivery. Coming into interviews with a track record of multi-year project involvement signals you're the kind of hire worth a long-term immigration investment.
Understand the EB-2 and EB-3 pathways
GHD typically files under EB-2 or EB-3, depending on your role and qualifications. EB-2 suits advanced-degree professionals; EB-3 covers skilled workers. Knowing which category fits your background helps you have an informed conversation with GHD's HR team.
Raise sponsorship early in the hiring process
In consulting and professional services, immigration decisions involve HR, legal, and project leadership. Asking about Green Card sponsorship during offer negotiation, not after, gives you time to align expectations before paperwork commitments are made.
Build tenure before initiating the Green Card process
GHD is more likely to begin Green Card filings for employees who have proven themselves over time. Performing well on project deliverables and earning internal advocates strengthens the business case your employer will need to justify sponsorship.
Find GHD openings through verified sponsorship data
Not every GHD job listing mentions Green Card sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your applications on GHD roles where sponsorship is a genuine possibility.
GHD Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does GHD sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, GHD sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees in the United States. Sponsorship is most common in engineering, environmental consulting, and technical project management roles. GHD files under EB-2 and EB-3 categories depending on the role's requirements and the employee's qualifications. Sponsorship is selective and typically initiated after a period of demonstrated performance within the firm.
Which roles and departments at GHD are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at GHD is concentrated in technical disciplines, including civil, structural, environmental, and water resources engineering, as well as advisory and project management roles. Consulting-focused positions that require specialized credentials or advanced degrees align most closely with EB-2 and EB-3 eligibility criteria, making them the strongest candidates for sponsorship.
How does the Green Card application process work at GHD?
GHD typically initiates the PERM labor certification process through the Department of Labor before filing an immigrant petition with USCIS. Your employer's immigration counsel handles the PERM filing, which requires documenting that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. Once PERM is certified, GHD files Form I-140 on your behalf. The full process involves HR, legal counsel, and your direct management.
How long does it take to get a Green Card through GHD?
The timeline from PERM filing to Green Card approval varies significantly based on your visa category, country of birth, and current USCIS processing speeds. EB-2 and EB-3 applicants born in high-demand countries like India can face multi-year waits due to per-country backlogs, while applicants from other countries often move faster. Plan for the process to span at least one to three years in favorable circumstances.
How do I improve my chances of getting Green Card sponsorship at GHD?
The strongest candidates are employees who have built internal credibility, hold advanced degrees or professional licenses, and work in roles that are genuinely hard to fill. Bringing up long-term career goals early in the hiring process helps signal your intent. Migrate Mate can help you identify GHD job listings where Green Card sponsorship is part of the employer's documented history, so your outreach is targeted from the start.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at GHD?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
