Match your credentials to the right EB pathway
HSHS typically files EB-2 for physicians and advanced practice roles requiring licensure beyond a bachelor's degree, and EB-3 for nurses and allied health positions. Confirming which category fits your role before applying prevents delays caused by misclassification during PERM filing.
Prepare your credential evaluation documents early
HSHS hiring teams for clinical roles often require foreign degree equivalency evaluations before extending an offer. Order a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES-accredited organization before your first interview so it doesn't slow down the sponsorship conversation with HR.
Understand the PERM labor certification timeline
Most HSHS Green Card filings for nurses and allied health staff go through the PERM process with DOL. From audit-free certification to I-140 approval, expect 12 to 24 months before you reach the visa queue, so start conversations with your manager early.
Look up your occupation's prevailing wage before negotiating
HSHS must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your specific occupation and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search before salary negotiations to understand the wage level your role is likely certified at, since Level I and II wages differ substantially from Level III.
Use Migrate Mate to identify HSHS Green Card filing patterns
Migrate Mate surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by employer, so you can see which HSHS facilities and job titles have active Green Card sponsorship history. Use that data to target the right department and location when applying, rather than relying on job postings alone.
Secure a permanent full-time offer before the I-140 is filed
USCIS requires a bona fide permanent, full-time job offer to approve an I-140 immigrant petition. Contract, per-diem, or temporary positions at HSHS don't qualify. Confirm your offer letter explicitly states permanent full-time employment before your employer's immigration counsel begins the Green Card filing.
Hshs Medical Group Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does HSHS Medical Group sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, HSHS Medical Group sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. The organization files through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, with sponsorship concentrated in clinical roles including physicians, registered nurses, and allied health professionals across its hospital network.
Which roles at HSHS Medical Group typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at HSHS is most common in clinical and licensed healthcare roles. Physicians, registered nurses, physical therapists, and other allied health professionals in direct patient care are the positions most likely to be offered sponsorship, particularly where recruitment in the local labor market is demonstrably difficult.
How do I start the Green Card process at HSHS Medical Group?
You'll need a permanent, full-time job offer from HSHS before the process begins. From there, HSHS's immigration counsel typically initiates a PERM labor certification with DOL, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition filed with USCIS. Your role determines whether you qualify under EB-2 or EB-3.
How long does the Green Card process take at HSHS Medical Group?
Timeline depends on your nationality and the visa category. The PERM and I-140 stages alone can take one to two years. For nurses and many allied health workers born in high-demand countries, additional waiting time in the visa queue applies once the I-140 is approved. Starting early matters significantly.
How do I find open Green Card sponsorship jobs at HSHS Medical Group?
Migrate Mate lists HSHS Medical Group roles with verified Green Card sponsorship history, filtered by facility and job type. You can also check HSHS career pages directly, but filtering for sponsorship-eligible positions specifically is faster when you use a platform that cross-references DOL filing data against current openings.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Hshs Medical Group?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
