Target roles that align with Ingram Micro's core business
Ingram Micro's Green Card sponsorship concentrates in technology, supply chain, and professional services functions. Roles in software engineering, IT infrastructure, and operations consulting are the most consistent pathways into their sponsorship pipeline.
Understand the PERM labor certification timeline
Green Card sponsorship at consulting and professional services firms like Ingram Micro usually begins with PERM labor certification, which can take a year or more. Starting conversations with your HR team early gives you realistic timeline expectations.
Look for open roles explicitly listed as Green Card eligible
Not every Ingram Micro opening comes with sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving time you'd otherwise spend applying to roles that won't lead to a Green Card filing.
Build tenure before expecting a sponsorship commitment
Ingram Micro, like most firms in consulting and professional services, generally sponsors Green Cards for employees who have demonstrated value over time. Approaching the conversation after proving your impact in the role strengthens your case significantly.
Clarify the EB-2 versus EB-3 path with your immigration contact
Ingram Micro sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards. Which category applies depends on your role's requirements and your qualifications. Confirming this early with HR or their immigration counsel prevents surprises later in the process.
Ingram Micro Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ingram Micro sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Ingram Micro sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. The company files Green Card petitions under the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based categories, primarily for professionals in technology, supply chain, and consulting roles. Sponsorship is typically offered to employees already working at the company on a nonimmigrant visa status.
Which roles and departments at Ingram Micro are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Ingram Micro is most common in technology and IT functions, including software development, systems engineering, and infrastructure roles. Professional services and operations positions within their consulting business also see regular filings. Roles requiring specialized technical or business expertise tend to qualify most reliably under EB-2 and EB-3 criteria.
How does the Green Card application process work at Ingram Micro?
Ingram Micro's Green Card process typically begins with PERM labor certification, where the company must demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available for your role. Once PERM is approved, they file an I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf. After I-140 approval, you either adjust status in the U.S. or complete consular processing, depending on your current visa situation and priority date.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at Ingram Micro?
The timeline depends heavily on your country of birth and the employment-based category your role falls under. PERM labor certification alone can take one to two years. For applicants born in India or China, EB-2 and EB-3 priority date backlogs can extend the total wait significantly beyond that. An immigration attorney can give you a more personalized estimate based on your specific situation.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Ingram Micro?
The most reliable approach is searching job boards that verify sponsorship history rather than relying on job descriptions alone. Migrate Mate tracks companies like Ingram Micro that have an active Green Card filing history, so you can browse open roles with confidence that sponsorship is real. From there, tailoring your application to Ingram Micro's technology and professional services priorities improves your chances of getting into their sponsorship pipeline.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Ingram Micro?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
