Company Description
It started with a simple idea: what if surgery could be less invasive and recovery less painful? Nearly 30 years later, that question still fuels everything we do at Intuitive. As a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, our technologies—like the da Vinci surgical system and Ion—have transformed how care is delivered for millions of patients worldwide.
We’re a team of engineers, clinicians, and innovators united by one purpose: to make surgery smarter, safer, and more human. Every day, our work helps care teams perform with greater precision and patients recover faster, improving outcomes around the world.
The problems we solve demand creativity, rigor, and collaboration. The work is challenging, but deeply meaningful—because every improvement we make has the potential to change a life.
If you’re ready to contribute to something bigger than yourself and help transform the future of healthcare, you’ll find your purpose here.

Align your credentials to EB-2 requirements
Intuitive Surgical regularly sponsors engineering and software roles under EB-2, which requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability. Confirm your degree and field directly match the role's specialty before applying, a mismatch forces a downgrade to EB-3 and adds PERM complexity.
Understand where PERM labor certification applies
Most EB-2 and EB-3 filings at Intuitive Surgical require PERM certification through DOL before USCIS can adjudicate your I-140. Your employer must run a compliant recruitment process first, so factor 12 to 18 months of PERM processing into your permanent residency timeline.
Target roles in robotics engineering and software
Intuitive Surgical's Green Card filings concentrate in technical roles tied to its da Vinci surgical systems platform. Roles in systems engineering, software development, and regulatory affairs see the heaviest sponsorship activity, so positioning your application around those functions improves your chances significantly.
Verify prevailing wage before salary negotiations
Your sponsored role must meet DOL's prevailing wage for its occupational code and work location. Check the OFLC Wage Search and O*NET before your offer stage so you negotiate a salary that clears the wage floor and avoids a PERM denial tied to underpayment.
Raise Green Card intent early in the process
Ask directly during late-stage interviews whether the team has a documented Green Card sponsorship policy for your role level. At Intuitive Surgical, sponsorship decisions often sit with hiring managers and HR business partners jointly, so getting written confirmation before signing protects you from post-hire surprises.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsoring roles
Search Migrate Mate to identify Intuitive Surgical job listings where Green Card sponsorship is confirmed through DOL Labor Condition Application filing history. Filtering by employer and visa type before you apply saves time and focuses your effort on roles where sponsorship is already established practice.
Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc. Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc. sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc. actively sponsors Green Card visas and is one of the stronger sponsors in the medical devices industry. Sponsorship is concentrated in technical and engineering roles tied to its surgical robotics platform, with filings processed under EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories through USCIS.
Which roles at Intuitive Surgical typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Intuitive Surgical is most common in systems engineering, software development, regulatory affairs, and clinical research roles. These positions align with the specialty occupation and advanced degree requirements that support EB-2 filings. Operations and quality assurance roles have also seen EB-3 sponsorship activity historically.
How do I navigate the Green Card application process at Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc.?
The process typically begins with your employer initiating PERM labor certification through DOL, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition filed with USCIS. Your HR and immigration counsel manage the employer-side filings. You're responsible for maintaining valid nonimmigrant status throughout, which can span several years depending on your country of birth and priority date.
How long does the Green Card process take at Intuitive Surgical?
Timeline depends on your immigrant visa category and country of birth. PERM certification alone takes 12 to 18 months, and I-140 adjudication adds several more. Applicants born in countries with visa backlogs, like India or China, may wait years after I-140 approval before a visa number becomes available under EB-2 or EB-3.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc. on Migrate Mate?
Migrate Mate surfaces Intuitive Surgical job listings with verified Green Card sponsorship history drawn from DOL LCA filing data. You can filter by visa type and employer to confirm which open roles have an established sponsorship record, so you're not applying blind and hoping sponsorship will be offered after the fact.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc.?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
