Align your credentials to EB-2 or EB-3
Simplot typically files Green Cards under EB-2 or EB-3 depending on whether your role requires an advanced degree. Engineers and research scientists often qualify for EB-2, while food processing and field operations roles more commonly fall under EB-3. Know which category fits your background before you apply.
Document your agriculture-specific technical skills
PERM labor certification requires Simplot to show your qualifications match a precisely defined role. Build a record of specialized skills, like soil science, agronomy, or food safety compliance, that generic candidates can't easily replicate. This strengthens your position during the recruitment test DOL requires.
Understand Simplot's PERM recruitment timeline
Before filing your Green Card petition, Simplot must complete a DOL-mandated recruitment process under PERM that typically takes several months. Ask your hiring manager or HR contact which stage the role is at, so you can calibrate your own timeline expectations and avoid misreading delays as disinterest.
Verify your prevailing wage before negotiating
Simplot's Green Card filing obligates them to pay DOL's prevailing wage for your occupation and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level before salary discussions. Knowing Levels I through IV helps you understand whether an offer reflects what's required for your petition to proceed.
Search Migrate Mate for verified Simplot sponsorship roles
Not every Simplot job listing flags Green Card sponsorship upfront. Use Migrate Mate to filter roles by employer and visa type, so you're only spending time on positions where Green Card sponsorship is already part of the offer. This cuts out the guesswork in a slow-moving hiring process.
Target roles where your O*NET job zone matches
Simplot's technical and scientific roles must meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard or equivalent skill thresholds for Green Card eligibility. Check your role's O*NET profile before applying to confirm it falls in Job Zone 4 or 5, which signals the degree and complexity requirements that support Green Card filings.
Simplot Company Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Simplot Company sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Simplot Company sponsors Green Card visas for eligible employees. Sponsorship is most common in technical, scientific, and engineering roles across its agriculture, food processing, and research divisions. Green Card support is typically offered after you've established yourself in a sponsored nonimmigrant status, such as H-1B visa or TN visa, with the company.
Which roles at Simplot Company are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Roles in agronomy, food science, chemical engineering, environmental compliance, and information technology are among those Simplot has supported for Green Card. Positions requiring specialized degrees or technical credentials tied to agriculture and food manufacturing tend to qualify most readily under EB-2 or EB-3 classification through the PERM process.
How does the Green Card application process work at Simplot Company?
Simplot initiates the process by filing a PERM labor certification with DOL, which requires completing a formal recruitment test to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available. Once certified, Simplot files an immigrant petition with USCIS on your behalf. You then wait for a visa number to become available before filing for adjustment of status or consular processing.
How long does the Green Card process take at Simplot Company?
The full timeline depends on your country of birth and the employment-based preference category. PERM certification alone can take six months to over a year. For applicants from countries with significant backlogs, such as India or China, the wait for a visa number under EB-2 or EB-3 can extend considerably beyond that initial filing period.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Simplot Company?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Simplot roles that include Green Card sponsorship, since not all listings make sponsorship explicit. Targeting positions in Simplot's technical and scientific teams, rather than general operations, improves your odds of landing in a role the company has historically supported through the PERM and USCIS petition process.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Simplot Company?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
