Target data and technology roles
TransUnion's Green Card sponsorships concentrate in data science, software engineering, and analytics functions. Focusing your search on these areas gives you the best chance of landing a role where permanent residency support is already part of the hiring process.
Ask about Green Card policy during interviews
TransUnion's recruiting team is familiar with immigration timelines. Asking directly whether a role is eligible for Green Card sponsorship signals seriousness and helps you avoid late-stage surprises about what the company is willing to support.
Understand the PERM labor certification step
Green Card sponsorship at most large employers, including TransUnion, begins with PERM labor certification filed with the Department of Labor. Getting comfortable with this process early helps you set realistic expectations and ask informed questions during the hiring process.
Use Migrate Mate to verify sponsorship history
Not every open role at TransUnion will lead to a Green Card. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and identify which roles and departments have a track record of following through.
Build tenure before initiating the process
TransUnion, like most Business Support and Outsourcing employers, typically begins Green Card proceedings after an employee has demonstrated strong performance. Treating your first year as an opportunity to establish value puts you in a stronger position when the conversation starts.
Work with TransUnion's immigration counsel early
Large employers in the Business Support and Outsourcing sector generally retain dedicated immigration attorneys. Connecting with TransUnion's legal team as soon as sponsorship is confirmed helps you stay ahead of priority date movements and document requirements throughout the EB process.
TransUnion Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does TransUnion sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, TransUnion sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. The company has an active record of supporting permanent residency filings, particularly for roles in technology, data, and analytics. Sponsorship is typically initiated after an employee has been in a role for a period of time and is subject to role eligibility and business need.
Which roles and departments at TransUnion typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at TransUnion is most common in technical and specialized roles, including software engineering, data science, data engineering, and product analytics. Corporate functions requiring niche expertise may also be eligible. Roles that are harder to fill domestically tend to move through the PERM process more smoothly, as the labor market test is easier to satisfy.
How does the Green Card application process work at TransUnion?
TransUnion typically sponsors Green Cards through the EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based categories. The process begins with PERM labor certification, where the company documents that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. Once PERM is approved, TransUnion files an I-140 immigrant petition. After that, your priority date determines how long you wait before adjusting status or completing consular processing.
How long does the Green Card process take at TransUnion?
The overall timeline depends on your country of birth and the visa category TransUnion files under. PERM labor certification alone can take several months to over a year. For applicants born in India or China, priority date backlogs in the EB-2 and EB-3 categories can extend the total wait significantly beyond the initial petition stage. Your situation will be unique, so tracking the monthly Visa Bulletin is essential.
How do I find Green Card jobs at TransUnion?
Start by filtering for roles in TransUnion's technology and data divisions, where sponsorship is most consistent. Migrate Mate lists verified Green Card sponsors and lets you search by company, making it straightforward to identify current openings at TransUnion with a real sponsorship history behind them. During the application process, confirm Green Card eligibility with the recruiter before accepting an offer.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at TransUnion?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
